Our rooms were upstairs! But not a huge issue.

When driving in I thought what have I booked for the group! However, the staff were very welcoming, and only to happy to pass on their local knowledge. Each room was very different which added to the booking. Although it’s old we all loved it!

Well I booked this accommodation for the unusual experience and that is what we had. I knew what was coming up when we arrived there were 6 of us but my sister didn't know and she couldn't stop laughing. It was an unusual place but the whole experience was fun. Bit sad the restaurant wasn't opened but understand. The owner has created an artistic experience the rooms are all different and there are unique collectibles everywhere, now I mean everywhere outside on your verandah are is a special experience. The rooms are not cluttered but at first look you do wonder. Everything is clean our rooms were spacious except for the twin bedroom a bit tight. We were so glad we stayed and the owner was lovely. One thing I want to mention is the room info book was very comprehensive on information about things to do in the area. We did it all on the recommendation from the book, such a historic place. Oh if you aren't there on the tour days for the mental asslyum we called and did a private tour on a day that suited us. Thanks for the special experience we loved it.

The only issue that we encountered was with the toilets - it took several flushes over an extended period of time and the toilet continued to make noise which was a little difficult to tolerate overnight due to the noise. But other than that, everything else was exceptional - facilities, location and service.

We did not opt to have breakfast here during our stay. The location was a lot better than we thought especially after having some last minute issues with our previous accomodation and being able to book this place on the same day was very reassuring and helpful. It was only a 20 minute drive from Hobart CBD and grocery stores/cafes which was easy accessible.

This is such a quirky little spot. It is spotless and has had so much love and personality put into the hotel it was like Aladdin's Cave, everywhere you looked had something else to study/ask questions about. Hospitality was fantastic. Tim goes out of his way to welcome you and makes you feel right at home without intruding on your own need for privacy.

I was a little nervous each time we drove in and out of the entrance to the motel because it is narrow, but all was well and we met no-one else.

From the moment I checked in, everything was fine. Friendly people in reception. There is a nice library for borrowing books so I was able to read during our stay. Our room was charming and there were many things to look at both inside the room and outside. Parking was easy and our spot was right outside our room. All the rooms in our part of the complex had a seating area. There are so many interesting things to see around the place you almost need an extra day to look at them all! One of the most interesting motels we've stayed at around the world.

Couldn't lock the door from the inside. No soap holder in the shower. Tiny handbasin in the bathroom. Extremely small bathroom. Light globes that needed replacing. Extension cords and power boards used when proper power points are read. Insufficient parking for the number of units when they are all full.
