Kaalba is a lovely place to stay in a beautiful and peaceful location. Everything you want is there. Friendly and welcoming owners. Lovely waking up to lots of different bird songs. Will definitely be going back.

Perfect spot to enjoy beautiful Maleny and the birds of the rainforest. Steven was a great host and helped us by arranging a new rental car. The cabin was well equipped with everything you want.

Location was perfect for our needs, close to the Maleny Golf Course. The cottage was clean and comfortable, great shower, everything that was needed. Beautiful view from balcony of the rain forest. Great walks wished we had more time. Our host was helpful and informative.

Everything was clean and good quality, it was just the towels that were rather stiff and rough. A bit of tumble drying could fix that.

Great views all around, lots of birds, also platypus present. Nice to have good quality extras like olive oil and ground coffee available, and citrus fruit to pick off the trees.

Kaalba has been created with sensitivity to its exquisite environment, and you can't help but feel the beauty of nature all around you. We felt immediately at home and loved the care that has been taken in the design, quality and upkeep of this lovely space. Everything was fabulous, and Steven and his dogs were the best hosts.

Having to leave!

Kaalba really is a very special place to stay. The little house is equipped with everything you could need, with quality appliances and furnishings. Steven gave us a wonderful, warm welcome and we got the impression that nothing would be too much trouble. The location is superb, very quiet other than the sounds of nature, a perfect place for just sitting and being in the moment. We were privileged to see the platypus whilst enjoying a sunset drink, that really made our stay absolutely perfect.

The view from the back and side deck is spectacular. The cabin is very well built and facilities are all quality high standard. It was the perfect getaway, including the effort our host went to provide us with a welcoming atmosphere, bottle of wine and local knowledge of the area.

How peacefully it was being away from the hustle of brisbane

Nothing..... we had a slight issue with smoke alarm but rectified straight away. The hills are steep.

The surroundings and the view from the balcony were sublime. The short stroll down to the creek and waterhole to watch for the ever elusive platypus was well worth the scenery regardless of the outcome, you could just sit for hours listening to nothing much but nature. Steven, Toonie and the beautiful, friendly and oh so lovable dogs were just as good as the accommodation. We would 100% recommend to everyone who would listen and even those that don't want to. Book this place you won't regret it.

Kaalba is a hidden gem! The accommodation was just lovely, the setting was so beautiful & tranquil, and Steven was very welcoming. The piece de resistance was getting to see a platypus at the picturesque swimming hole on the property, not to mention a Mary River Cod & a turtle! A very enjoyable & relaxing stay all round :)

Steven is a great host and it is easy to tell that he and his partner take pride in providing a great stay for their guests. He gave us some good advice on local walks and places to eat. We felt so happy to see a platypus feeding one evening at a local water hole he directed us to. Sitting on the deck with a glass of wine as the light disappeared in the evenings was very relaxing.
