Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesLynn, a hostel employee, was consistently rude from the outset. Despite our request for an early check-in due to a grueling overnight bus journey, she insisted we wait the full four hours until the official check-in time, despite the rooms being prepared. This lack of empathy was disappointing and left a sour taste from the beginning. Furthermore, when friends staying in a different accommodation within the vicinity wished to use the shuttle service, Lynn refused, even when they offered to pay. Their only crime was not being guests at the hostel, yet they were denied access to a service they were willing to pay for (even offering to pay for a room just to be able to use the service). During checkout, we encountered another stressful situation. Despite having followed the hostel's sign-up system three days prior for the shuttle back to Noosa, we found ourselves unable to board due to a large tour group taking up all the baggage space. Lynn's response was indifferent, offering no solutions or assistance, leaving us to awkwardly stack our backpacks in the aisle, some three backpacks high! Adding to the frustration, a particularly rowdy tour group disrupted the hostel's usually peaceful atmosphere one night. Their loud music, singing, and slamming of doors diminished the enjoyment of other guests who had been relishing in the tranquility of the surroundings.
The kangaroos were everywhere, around 50-100 of them freely roaming the area, which was quite special. The lake, restaurant, and lodges were conveniently located within a couple of minutes' walk. The pizza at the restaurant was enjoyable, and there was even live music one night. We also went on an Everglades tour directly from the hostel. I'd recommend staying here for one night, maybe two at most, as the shuttle bus became a bit inconvenient after three nights. However, for the chance to experience the kangaroos, one night is definitely worth it!

FranceBathroom is a little bit small. It was full in the morning as everyone wants to be ready before 10AM.
Amazing place! In the middle of nowhere surrounded by kangaroos. The hostel is really clean and well organized. The rooms are tiny but comfy and quiet, you can only hear the chipping birds in the morning. Don't forget your mosquito spray!

United KingdomRooms were tiny. To fit 4 people in a cabin was very squeezed. Buses to & from the centre could maybe have been a bit more regular.
Kangaroos everywhere and felt very close to nature! Lovely scenery.

BelgiumThe 4 bed dorms are very small. There is no space for 4 people with backpack. There was no cleaning in the 4 days we stayed there (all 4 people were there for 4 nights). Upon checkout, we had to strip the bed and bring the sheets next to the reception. Bathrooms were more or less ok. All lights go off at 10pm. There was a shuttle that goes to town 3 times a day and that heads back to the hostel 3 times a day. Times are not ideal. And it’s far from the city center. So better have a car to move freely.
I went there to see kangaroos

ItalyExtremely small room. Almost no space for luggage. Extremely humid. Bathrooms were not very clean and kitchen is outside, as well as tables. If you like a camping style hostel, you'll like it :)
There was air conditioning, but it was right on my bed and I did not have a pleasant night.

IrelandThe huts were a little on the small size and can become cramped when there are 4 people but it wasn't the end of the world.
Being right on the lake and surrounded by Kangaroos is amazing! The AC in the rooms is very good and the free shuttle into Noosa makes it easy to get to!

United KingdomThe rooms are quite far from the toilets, didn't bother us but may be an issue if you go a lot in the night.
The place is new so everything is nice and clean and in good working order. The kangaroos are amazing and chill right next to the huts. Staff are friendly and helpful and the dorms are reasonably priced. You can walk around the everglades which are really pretty. WiFi is pretty good given the remote location

United KingdomThe rooms were a squeeze. There is barely room for bags, and it can be hard to squeeze into a bunk. Mosquitos got in even though the door was always closed, I recommend sleeping with repellant on. Kitchens were outside, and it did rain pretty hard.
You are right in the middle of the local wildlife. Kangaroos graze nearby, birds either nest overhead or run through overnight. The staff were super friendly and there was plenty to do between hikes. Rooms were clean with working ac.

AustraliaMake sure to bring groceries. The bistro is quite expensive. We had “$15” meals, but it seems like the pizza served was even smaller than normal ones… Wifi was quite horrible
Unique experience, arrive on the shuttle and greeted by a field filled with kangaroos. Really neat getaway from the beaches if travelling the east coast. Going canoeing and swimming in the black water river was also a great experience.
