Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaI didn't like that I had other plans and only had the 1 night at Karma Kinglake - it was beautiful and I would have loved to stay there longer
I received a free upgrade upon arrival - I loved the place I stayed - it had every amenity I could need for an over night stay. The bed was amazing. A friend who loved in the area popped in and loved it too

AustraliaThe cottage was beautiful. Spacious, clean and comfortable - everything we needed and better than expected. The grounds are stunning and a great base to explore the wineries in the Yarra.

United StatesIt would be useful to have a few additional items such as a wardrobe, we didn’t have anywhere to hang clothing or store items. A suitcase rack would help too. The room needs a full length mirror or an additional mirror in the living room - there is only the bathroom one. The TV wasn’t a smart TV but that was ok for us.
Karma Kinglake was in the perfect location for us. Quiet, cottages apart from each other, and close to wineries. We were here for one night and wanted a room larger than a hotel one because we had to both briefly worked the next day. Having a good sized living room and a desk in the bedroom meant we could easily attend calls, do work. The person who works here was so helpful with check in and check out. It’s a friendly environment. The bed was very comfortable with a great shower area. You’re able to make tea/coffee. There is a fridge, a lot of mugs and some kitchen items.

AustraliaVery clean and friendly host Steve was responsive and helpful. We stayed at the Argyle Apple suite which was well prepared and nicely equipped. Fireplace was highlight with kindling, fire lighters and fire wood ready to go. Location was family friendly for morning walks and close to some excellent restaurants. For us as a family with two teenagers and a primary school child it was about the peace and quiet and getting away from screens so the clear mountain air and nearby national parks and waterfalls were perfect. Thank you Karma Kinglake.

AustraliaI can bypass this because everything is just so amazing but the only thing I would recommend if your a pillow fussy, the pillows are very firm there which are fantastic if you like that and they make the bed décor look fabulous but if you like the more fluffy soft pillow would defiently recommend bringing your own as I do as I love my soft pillow.
I have now stayed here twice and I can't express enough how amazing it is! Steve was fantastic as I hate the cold and he was great to bring up some extra wood for us. The area is just so pretty and the people of the town are just so lovely and inviting, Songbird Cafe just brilliant the staff and food just perfection! It is so quite in the area so relaxing comes so easy when you stay there, even on the coldest days snuggling up on the couch in front of the fire was just amazing and just what you need as a parent having a quick R & R getaway! Highly recommend staying here :)

AustraliaWe had a general understanding of what the breakfast would be, but booking sites and properties should clearly differentiate between B&B (our historic understanding of that description) and basic breakfast (which is what Karma supplies). What the property supplies is fine - in room cereal packets, bread for toasting and a carton of juice - but would disappoint anyone not prepared for what is actually catered.
So quiet and tranquil, it's a lovely property and worth spending more time in the area.

AustraliaI stayed in the guest suite adjoining the main house. I did not want to leave, one day was not long enough. The rustic feel combines with the trees and birds outside made it a peaceful and relaxing retreat. The bed was comfortable. I will be recommending it to people.

AustraliaA perfect place to stay as a couple, or to rent multiple cabins for the family. We stayed here for our wedding weekend with our close family and absolutely loved the reservation. The facilities were perfect - super clean, easy to access, very cosy. The fireplaces were such a nice addition as well. We had access to a terrific function room/area which was perfect for our group of 11 people. Tables and chairs were available in storage to set up and use. There's a great outdoor area with festoon lighting where you can set up an outdoor fire. We had our dog with us - Steve and his wife were so accomodating and we're so appreciative. The town is very quaint - everything is within easy walking distance (supermarket, petrol station, pizza restaurant and pub). The owners were lovely - we felt so welcome!

AustraliaA kitchen sink in the Queen suite would be a useful addition as had to wash dishes in the bathroom sink.
Beautiful property nestled among towering trees. Lovely friendly hosts. we stayed in the Queen suite attached to the main house. Amazing decor incorporating the use of recycled materials where possible. It was a lovely stay in self contained accommodation. The hexagonal huts look interesting and would love to try them next time. A great property to book with friends or family, with seperate accommodation and shared outdoor areas. Truly magical.
