How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

This is a beautiful old house that has been wonderfully restored and is located right in the heart of Benalla. The host (Melanie) was really helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Quite difficult with side drive hedge for opening the door and trying to get in and out of vehicle. No problem with parking out the front though.
Beautiful renovation with everything we needed. Lovely patio garden out the back which we took advantage of. Central to town with car or walking.

This was the most gorgeous place to stay stepping back into Australia’s history. We loved the feel of the home and the way it has been decorated adds so much charm. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the gardens were a beautiful place to be away from everything. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived at the front of the property.

Little noisy early in the morning when the trucks were on the highway. Minor distraction from a great property.
Beautiful old house that was presented in immaculate condition. Lovely gardens that were great to sit in at the end of a days golf. The house is very spacious and comfortable and only a short drive to the Benalla Golf Club. Shower was great, plenty of hot water.

The driveway was very narrow. Not really suitable for a large vehicle. But there was street parking.
Great house in a wonderful location. Had everything you could possibly need. So spacious. So clean. Ideal for 2 friends travelling together.

House may need a deep clean - top of microwave / fridge / laundry trough / power points / surfaces / blinds / backyard paving, although all important areas were very clean.
Gorgeous house with old world charm. Perfect location - 5 minutes to shops, lake and pub. Warm and comfortable. We loved the sourdough bread provided, and who doesn’t like the gift of wine. Lovely garden with morning sun.

The house did get quite cold, and unfortunately for me, leaving a split system heater on over night affects my sinuses

We just love this gorgeous house. It's in a great location with an easy walk to the main street, art gallery, botanic gardens and lovely walks. It is a very comfortable place to stay and had everything we needed. The garden is gorgeous and there are multiple private spots inside and outside the house to relax. It was also extremely quiet, day and night.

Leaving it when it was time to travel home.
Great attention to detail throughout the home. Loves the period style property and the private garden at the rear. Walking distance to main streets and local eating spots. Super easy check in and attentive host.

Nothing, great house and host! A toilet in the bathroom would be icing on the cake :)
Wonderful stay, amazing historical house. The host thought of everything, really comfortable very enjoyable stay! Beds were very comfortable, house cosy, lots of room heaters to keep us warm in winter, electric blankets a nice treat. House in great location, close to town. The “Northo” pub down the road served great food in a lovely atmosphere. Thanks for a special stay, we will be back!

What we didnt like (o)As I said a big thanks to our hosts.
The breakfast was so so good little things like that makes you think your hosts know how to make there guests feel good.And the bottle of red well over the top.beds very comfy .I cant recommend this place to much because we will never to get a booking again .(ha ha)Rating A1
