Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Because it was in snow The food was good and Michelle was amazing . The accomodation was nice and comfy but not luxurious as it was advertised. They were so lovely at accomodating a birthday for my daughter . It was awesome.

AustraliaWe were already booked and paid for at a Thredbo ski week with some other families when the disappointing news came through that Thredbo was closing two weeks early. Perisher was still open so we put a booking on Kooloora (yes, paying for two accommodations for the chance to ski). Then, just before we departed from Brisbane we were told that Perisher was closing, so we tried to cancel, several times, with managers, for even half the money back. At each point it was refused. The managers said it was our problem, since they encouraged us to come earlier in order to ski. I told them we were coming from Queensland… of course we couldn’t. I understand the business imperative, however, we are also Hotel Owners in Brisbane where destination events have been cancelled often over the last three years since COVID. In all cases, we issued full refunds to our guests. To each their own I guess.

AustraliaKoolara is amazing, you will have such a great time. If the snow is good ski-in-ski-out is easy, if not the oversnow is not a hassle and is provided each morning! Rosemary and Eric go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your stay. You are close to everything you need in Perisher. I can't wait to go back next season.

AustraliaBeing a ski lodge, the primary pastime for people would be skiing either on their day of arrival or departure, and one would expect that the option to have your bags stored would be complimentary like it is at all the other lodges in Perisher. Instead the offer was presented to us at a charge of $100 each time. I worked in the travel industry for over 15 years and never encountered hotels charging to store your luggage pre/post you staying with them unless they are offering you early/late room access which was not the case. The lodge is located about 600m up the hill, which they clearly outlined on their website. You can ski down to the lifts if there is adequate snow cover and whilst there is a little bit of a hill half way down which you need to walk up this is not a major hurdle. For those wanting an oversnow transfer to the lifts one can be arranged complimentary - BUT it's only at 8:45am (no flexibility - that's the only time slot available). Returning back up to the lodge of an afternoon, again complimentary, BUT only between 3:30pm and 4:30pm ... so you can forget that Apres drink at the bar to listen to a band or watch the sun setting over the mountain range - otherwise your trip back to the lodge will cost you a private oversnow transfer. Not sure why the time rigidity considering they utilize the third party oversnow that service the resort all day and night. If they are covering the cost of your transfer back to the lodge what does it matter if it's at 3:30pm or 6pm. Then there was the food - just as there's no choice/alternate options to the menu, there's also no flexibility for meal time - 6:30pm dinner is served and that's it. Breakfast was only marginally better, cereal, toast, condiments & coffee/tea is put out the night before so you can help yourself in the morning, but the hot served plate portion is only served at 8am and there's no choice or selection.
The Lodge is very modern, immaculate interiors, very comfortable and warm rooms and super clean. The bathroom was very modern and spacious with lots of storage room in the shaving cabinet and under sink. The bedroom whilst quite small was everything we needed. There was an amazing amount of wardrobe storage in our room (we only stayed the weekend but if we had been there for 2 weeks there was enough storage space for lots of clothes and gear). The ski storage locker and drying room downstairs were very well catered for with allocated room racks for ski gear drying. I give the lodge 10/10 for the interiors and cleanliness.

AustraliaThe owners were inflexible, even with an 8 week out booking, where booking.com stated we were able to modify and - or cancel the booking. Our circumstances changed, with school kids competing for interstate schools skiing , with one child injured. The owners did NOT honour the booking.com stated ability to cancel or modify. As a result we had to spend money for a 5 bed rather than a 3 bedroom. As a result we will never return.
The staff were excellent. The owners were very difficult to deal with. The distance from perisher tube was ok for ski out but ski in is not available
