How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Only little things. The tea cups that are so small that they hold very little tea. The gardeners start mowing the lawns outside the ground floor window at 7:30 am. Housekeeping doesn’t replenish the minibar.
It is of its era, stylish and historical. Staff friendly.

The door in my room that adjoined to adjacent room didn’t close properly, let alone lock. While there was another door on the other side which I assume was securely locked it wasn’t ideal.
The location was great and suited me well. I had a standard room (lowest rate) but it was very well sized and well presented.

Other then the mattress being a little hard for me. nothing was great
The Rooms were lovely and also very quiet. The breakfast for $25.00 was excellent and the coffee was great. the only thing was the mattress was a little hard for me. and extra pillows would be great. I sleep with 3 and normally take one of my own but I forgot. It was really a great motel and we will be staying again. We may be going to Canberra a lot in the future and it will be were we stay.

Restaurant staff were mixed, some relaxed and friendly, others stiff and uncomfortable. Many staff were hard to understand, English probably their second language. The shower badly designed so water leaked under the door and spread all over the bathroom floor.
Front desk staff were helpful, professional and friendly. Room was comfortable.

Saturday night the people staying in the room across from us were having a party. At 12.30am I rang reception 3 times but no one answered I walked down to reception and asked that they asked the people having the party to quiten down so we could sleep. Eventually they quietened down and we finally got some sleep

Given the distance from carpark to our rooms, access to a luggage trolley and/or porter service would have been appreciated.
The history of the building, comfortable rooms and breakfast were all great.

We have to pay extra for the parking.
I booked two rooms which are connected. It is convenient for a big family. The rooms are wonderful. The double bed is very big and my little one really like it. The staff were very friendly and helpful, for example, when we asked for help in heating up some dishes using their microwave.

Unfortunately the housekeeping aspect of the room was poor. Our bathroom had not been cleaned properly when we checked in. There were toe nails on the floor and urine stains around the toilet. When we told reception they did organise getting it cleaned. The daily clean and room make up by the house keepers was really poor. They did not make the beds properly. They left pillows on the floor. They did not vacuum or clean anything. It was very surprising given the standard of the hotel. But sadly the cleaning aspect of it was extremely poor.
The hotel has a lot of history and heritage. It’s a great location with easy access to all the sites. It’s been renovated nicely and looks lovely. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
