How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Not enough mirrors lol. With a group of women there was only one mirror.

The air-conditioning unit was located only in the lounge/dining area, hence only that area was pleasant & comfortable but the heat, in all bedrooms due to intense afternoon sun, remained right up to the night as the single floor fan & the air vents on the floor were not enough to counter the heat generated by the afternoon sun.
The property was clean, well-maintained & well-equipped.

1. Laundry and one of the bathrooms were together. 2. Only mirror was in the main bathroom. 3. Small bins in the barthroom and toilet would have been great. 4. Having to take garbage bins out , down the hill.
First impressions "wow". Every thing we needed was there. We were a bit concerned about pet friendly accomadation. But the place was spotless. Very happy with my pick. Nice view from the balcony.

Steep access could be challenging for people with mobility issues.

Wifi wasn't working. Lounges were too low for 60 yr olds, low back on them made them uncomfortable . Dining chairs average. Minor maintenance issues that we reported.
Beds were comfortable. Has a lovely view and good location. Good value for money.

lots of room,great views over the bay, walking distance to shops and restaurants. lovely local community. Easy to find what you need to complement your stay. Very comfortable accommodation. Location is fantastic. We loved staying there.

Lack of on street parking and inability to park more than 4 cars at the property, but that wasn’t too much of a hassle!
L’Ciabot is a beautiful property, well kept and clean. Great location with an amazing view. Amenities well stocked. Excellent communication by owners. All guests were extremely happy with their stay!

BBQ looked like it needs some maintenance so didn’t use it couldn’t get coffee machine to work

Keys were a bit tricky with locking and unlocking doors. Tiles in bathroom very slippery and cooling only covers the living area, bedrooms too hot.

The property isn't fully fenced which would be a great addition as it's advertised as pet friendly. That said, we were made aware of that shortly after booking. :)
The living area was spacious and well appointed and the view from the deck was fabulous. The beds were comfortable and the bedding good quality. We were on a short break with our three young adult kids and one of their friends. The house easily accommodated everyone and we enjoyed the winter sunshine from the living area and deck which was bathed in sunshine for most of the day. We would definitely stay there again!

back door could only be shut when locked, wifi didn’t work and we were not able to use the tv because the remotes did not work. BBQs were very dirty. micro wave too high to reach safely. outdoor bean bags all torn. windows have spectacular views but very very dirty. there was a hole in the wall in the toilet. Glasses too high in cupboard and the only way to get them down was whilst standing on a chair.
