No parking. Reception unattended Gang of smoker's at the foot of the stairs. Choke every time we came or went. Pin code supplied in booking confirmation did not provide entry Toilet leaked onto floor. Taps all leaked constantly. Sitting room too dark for reading paper or completing crossword.

Doors between rooms in the 2 bedroom apartment would greatly improve the experience and allow for a proper nights sleep. The 2br apartment is more open plan and best suited to a family where privacy is not paramount.

Trivial but room had polished wooden floors and a carpet rug would have added to comfort, also, would have appreciated a reading lamp next to sofa.

Although rooms are not new they are very clean and have all facilities for comfortable stay. Kitchenette we didn't use but was clean and well provided. Room was nice and quiet well back from main road. Location is ideal with waterfront, cafes, restaurants, car rentals, major shopping centres and railway station and main bus stop within easy walking distance.

the place is oldish with not much renovations done over the last… probably 20 years. Very basic. It could be harder to compete with other more refurbished places.

The fact that reception was never open to walk in and talk to someone face to face and you could only contact them by phone during 8am to 5pm otherwise there was no help. I didn't understand why reception was closed during daylight hours. The front door was always locked. WHY? You're running a service business so you need to be available to help guests. We felt sorry for an NZ family who had arrived one night and had supposedly not received their welcome text message with entry detail information and the office phone was not being answered so they were out in the cold. Luckily we were there to help them. I don't know how many countless guests would have been stuck waiting outside not knowing how to get in after landing in Cairns. There was NO table or chairs to sit and eat a meal. That was a HUGE NO NO. There was room for it in the living area so a cheap one should be included. We had to place our food on one of 2 little knee high mini tables while seated on the old 2 seater couch. We had to take it in turns to use the larger of the 2 mini side tables! There was no stove or oven so the only way to heat food was with the microwave which is not ideal for some food. The living room light was faint and not bright enough. The couch was old and worn and not wide enough. Both of us felt squashed sitting on it. The bathroom tap and shower needed a new washer as it kept dripping when turned off (room 105). No box of tissues.

The bathroom was big with good storage unit and had a good sized hot shower. The bedroom was big and had adequate storage, a large vertical mirror and the bed was comfortable with clean bed linen light and suitable to the local weather conditions. The kitchenette was adequate although missing a stove or oven. The room was large enough for a couple. The staff responded to requests quickly during business hours to fix things and replace towels and toilet paper. The location was within walking distance to Cairns city attractions, restaurants and Woolies. It was value for money. It was clean. The TV worked well. Wi-fi is available. The toilet paper was 3 ply and the bar of soap was a big chunky one which is pretty good for a budget hotel.

The single bed in the bedroom was not very comfy, it was extremely sunken and worn in.

Good location. Reception wasn’t open after 5pm when we arrived but they made it extremely easy to check in and get to our room.
