Extremely disappointed with the owner/manager when we arrived for a pre-arranged late check in at midnight. As advised we came to the bar for this late check in. On arrival the owner asked for my bank card and ID which I showed him, however he wanted to take this (to another part of the hotel - ?office) WITHOUT ME ACCOMPANYING him so he could do whatever checks he had to do. I refsued for him to take my bank card unaccompanied and asked him if he could either do the checks in front of me either here in the bar or with me accompanying him to the office. He refused giving me an option of either letting him take my bank card unaccompanied as he was asking or to leave and find another hotel and no guarantee of money back for the room that I had already paid (saying I had to contact booking.com regarding that). As it was past midnight and we were tired having just flown into Sydney with nothing else booked and no other hotels nearby, this was not really an option. The situation got very tense however we both kept our cool and remained polite. Eventually (after much discussion and waiting) I decided to give in and handed over my bank card and ID - he went away with it for a few minutes (?to office) and then returned and handed them back (?after doing whatever checks he had to do). It was shocking that he was not able to find another solution when it was clear I was very reluctant to hand over my bank card unaccompanied. It was shocking he would not budge and that he was refusing me the room that I had booked and already paid for. He had not mentioned this when I had made the booking and spoken to him on the phone, if he had I would have most likely booked one of the other hotels that I had been considering, or at the least made the booking with my credit card rather than debit card. Extremely disappointing!

Good room, good bed, good shower. Able to accept late check in. Lakemba is in a very multi-cultural part of Sydney and it was great to see this other part of Sydney. Moreover it was Ramadan and there was a festive atmosphere on the streets at midnight with the street full of people which was fun.

You'll need to drag your luggage up 2 flights of stairs. There seemed to be a party somewhere very close by, there was no information in the room to call a duty manager etc. To rectify. Also makes it concerning if there's an emergency like a plumbing issue, no one to call. When I left at 5am for the airport, the party Was still going on.

Seems to be newly renovated and quite clean.

* The quilt was unwashed with stains. * Had to ask for toilet rolls as they didn't provide any. * Had to ask for batteries for the AC remote as it has none. *A small fridge is placed inside the toilet.

When I checked in at 6pm my room wasn't ready and I had to wait twenty minutes for it to be prepared. Stayed there for a week, my room was only cleaned once (apparently rooms are only cleaned on request - nobody told me this at checkin, and the second time I requested cleaning it wasn't done anyway), and for some reason the one time my room was cleaned all the toilet paper was removed. The shared kitchen was absolutely disgusting, looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. The staff seemed to know very little about anything to do with the accommodation so every time I asked for assistance I was left waiting in the bar for ten minutes until someone could be found to help me.

Close to train station. The room was clean on arrival. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Staff were mostly friendly.

The distance from the city & lack of coffee in the area. My fault for not researching the location prior to booking.

Clean room & comfy clean bed. The bathroom was also fine. Close to the station & easy to get about on public transport. I appreciated the secure entry.

slow checkin swipe card not working on after hours entry very noisy guests outside room talking loudly and swearing kitchen is shared between 8 rooms. fridge full of old stuff room had no bar fridge, tea/Coffee 4 lots of conditioner, no shampoo would not refund the 2 additional days I would not stay

I stayed there for a week but not once the bed or pillow cover was changed The toilet was not cleaned once no iron, no toiletries provided After check in when i went to the toilet i couldnt find any toilet rolls and i have to go to the reception and have to ask for it As this was not enough there was a CAP ON USING THE WIFI. It was hard to get in touch with the family back home (UK) When i spoke to the manager called KARAN about the house keeping he said you wouldnt change the bed and piloow cover everyday or everyweek in your house. This was very surprising answer to my question Will never reccomend this to anyone
