Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNot a fan of blankets. Would be nicer to have a doona.
The supply of cereals, breads , milk and condiments was sufficient for us. A nice touch. And there was also a container with sweet biscuits. Coffee/tea sachets were plentiful. We had a problem with the t.v reception but my husband went to the house to let them know and Cynthia was more than helpful and fixed it whilst we were out. The owners are in the background if you need anything. I was also impressed with the supply of hand sanitiser and a can of Glen 20. They have thought of everything.. Check in and out Is contactless. Really impressed with how they have adapted their business to suit the times. Very covid safe. The decor is a bit olde worlde , with doileys dotted around the place but it was comfortable enough. The aiconditioner/heating system could probably do with an update but the heater was efficient and kept us warm. It was just rather loud.

AustraliaA little dark inside possibly due to style/age as constructed in a period manner with full brick walls and smaller windows with front entry verandah, with an older wall mounted air-conditioning unit in the living area though was functional.
Breakfast was ample with choice of cereal, toast, pancakes, fruit, supplied in-house along with a welcome bottle of bubbles, all very comfortable with onsite parking and push bikes available. Easy drive back to town centre, and nice and clean.

AustraliaI feel like this place is a hidden gem. The attention to detail from the owners was exceptional even down to milk, bread, biccies and bubbles all supplied for you. The cabins are full of character, it isn't super modern but crucially the bathroom was up to date and everything was spotlessly clean. In a way it made it more comfy and really feel like a home away from home. The location is just behind the main road. HUGE BONUS - they have bicycles you can borrow for free and e-bike hire on site at a super reasonable rate - no rushing back and forth from a hire place. Really this is fab and would recommend!

AustraliaIt is noisy when guests use the barbeque area well into the night. Disruption to other guests could be minimised if a curfew was in place.
The cottage was spacious, clean, and very charming. The breakfast provisions were plentiful and fresh. Having a coffee plunger was great.

AustraliaEverything was to make the stay a special retreat. The extra touches of chocolates, biscuits for morning tea, and such a wide selection of breakfast choices was amazing. Being on the edge of town made it very quiet and the mini bar ment we didnt need to go into town centre for a snack. Very nice stay and the bed was comfy.

AustraliaSlightly dated but in my opinion adds to the homely charm. TV'S had DVD players but were not smart TV'S so if you wanted to be able to stream, you would need your laptop/devices. Or just bring or borrow one of the provided books!
Amazing location, good value, hospitable and attentive hosts (including a thoughtful delivery of hot cross buns and Easter eggs for Easter). We stayed in the Hoffman cottage (one of four) and it was the perfect base to explore the Barossa. Each of the cottages looked fairly similar so I don't think it matters too much which one you stay in. Bikes and spa were an added bonus which we utilised. Laundry was convenient for washing/ironing. The facilities in the cottage included extra blankets and pillows, plenty of towels, thoughtful breakfast supplies, a small functional kitchen with all the basics. Check in and check out were absolutely seamless.

AustraliaWe're charged an exorbitant fee of $10 (or 2.63%) for paying by credit card for our room. Normally, credit card fee is around 0.5% - 1.5%. The only alternative is paying in cash. No "debit" or "cheque" options.
Welcome champagne and good stock of tea, coffee, especially ground coffee, breakfast cereals, fresh milk and bread were really appreciated.

Australiaalthough the cottage is lovely it felt very dated and dark. no where private to sit outside as other guest are right next door and made us self conscious of talking or making noise. unfortunately we were not greeted by owner which I felt uncomfortable with as their property is also on the same block and I would of preferred a more personable greeting at least for 5 mins…. we eventually discovered a pool but the cover was on it so not able to use .
location was great. Easy access. quaint little cottage.
