Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandPillows are all high profile. It would be nice to have a low profile option. With the current curtains, some light gets it, full block-out curtains would be great too.
Location is great, nice and comfortable room.

AustraliaThe room was clean, but there was a lot of hair in the bed and window sill that defiantly was not mine. It’s a bit noisey too, could hear people on the corridors and some noise from the room next door
Great location, very basic and small but has a cool vibe.

Francemy one issue is its great that they offer. a guest one free coffee a day, but to wait. in line and then the person at the desk has to jump on computer to locate the guest and then make the coffee..is a bit absurd, just make it easier..too corporate to get a coffee. also when a guest does not like a room and asks to change and it becomes an issue and you are trying to charge me an extra 20 or 30 for switching rooms stating there was something in the garbage that housekeeping had to take care of, is not ok...that is my time, that is now this review and that is not ok. The upper management was great but it should not have had to escalate to that as I would like to stay here again and the overall concept is great but needs working out in the kinks of corporate.
the location and idea of this hotel is great. It meets todays travelers , there is a shared kitchen, washer room, its hip and in a great artistic area. The rooms are fine--

AustraliaNothing. Rooms are small but thoughtfully designed. Unless you’re planning to spend a lot of time in your room during the day, the small size isn’t an issue and more than made up for by the value for money.
Clean and comfortable rooms, good shared facilities (kitchen, laundry, lounge) and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Great value for money in one of the liveliest areas of Melbourne.

AustraliaSee, through glass bathroom doors, there is not much privacy when travelling with Sister lol. Plus, I had to climb over her to get to bed. It's not good if you have mobility issues. Luckily, I don't myself No fridge in rooms or kettle. I like tea in the morning in my room. Only share kitchen available Otherwise, good stay I would stay again

AustraliaReally, there is nothing negative I'd comment on.
You can't go past the value for money this property offers. The rooms are small but very well-appointed and modern - perfect for a short trip. Excellent facilities with free (good) coffee, kitchens, meeting rooms, ample desk and charging stations, bikes, and free wifi. Staff are particularly friendly.

AustraliaCan be a little tricky to get the sleeping temperature right at night as the doona is so thick and warm.
Have stayed here for work trips on a few occasions now and can't fault Lyf - the beds are comfortable, the rooms have everything you need, the showers are great and the communal kitchen area with filtered water is handy.

AustraliaBed was right against the wall and window and no room to get into bed comfortably. Hardly no room for bags. Bathroom was see-through so was very awkward getting ready with friends. Could see everything! Iron was downstairs - had shower and had to put clothes on to go downstairs and then back to room to get dressed. Parking was $35 for one night! Sooooo expensive.
Very beautiful rooms but super small. Great communal areas. Great welcoming staff. Great for a one night stay as long as you don’t want to hang out in the room. Nowhere to sit!

AustraliaNot really a negative but for longer term stay I would book a larger room but that is only a minor thing to bear in mind when planning your stay. If you do need secure parking you do need to request it at the time of booking, again not a negative.
We booked the bed only room its super clean, and has a small bathroom. These rooms are compact but well designed to maximise the available space. We only needed an overnight stop and having secure underground gated parking is great peace of mind. There is a fantastic cafe next door which is a great stop for breakfast.
