Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaIt was close to what we wanted to do. We stayed two nights and there was only enough milk for one coffee each. I think for two nights they could have put some extra in. Also taps were loose and the towel rails. Just a few maintenance things that should be done.

AustraliaI was choosing between 2 properties on Booking.com, one didn't have a restaurant or breakfast option, this one did, so I picked this one. On check in I was told, the restaurant is being renovated. Bed needs an upgrade. Springs popping and moving was caused an uncomfortable nights sleep.

AustraliaStayed 5 nights and had to ask for fresh towels. Given Melbourne's damp and cool weather I would have expected this to be a given - especially as there was only one usable towel rail. Did not feel totally secure and there was a major late night domestic in one of the rooms. Was out most of the day so the smallness of the room was not a huge concern.
Visiting relatives so location was very good for us. Bed was comfortable and shower worked well.

New Zealandthe property was a little tired, immediately as you turn in, broken furniture is taped off and the reception is closed to customers - you check in via a window. it didn’t really make the place seem very inviting. the owners themselves were nice though. the room was a little worn out as well but presented neatly. one thing I do have to say is that for three of the four nights there was a line of ants crawling on the bathroom floor which wasn’t very pleasant. when we asked for room service as well they gave only replaced the towel, no extra toilet paper and didn’t make the bed.
the room itself was generally okay.
