Bathrooms can get messy and could be cleaned more thoroughly and frequently.

Excellent location, charming character, quiet room, pleasant decor, kettle and fridge in the room, helpful and friendly management, daily cleaning services, well equipped kitchen with pleasant sitting area, relaxed atmosphere, nice seasonal Christmas Tree deco, close to beach, easy walking distance to mall, shops, churches, ferry and bus stops.

A hanger would have been useful. The towel was scrappy. The room bare, small and stark. If that was a “superior” room then heaven help a standard room. It was a boarding house but certainly not a B n B.

No breakfast. Location ok for the ferry. Cafe and small supermarket close by.

Appreciate the reviews are bad - I used the excuse that people were not considering what they paid (as it’s cheaper then other accommodation), that being said - book as last resort. Reasons as follows: 1. Received a call prior to my booking implying I should pay more. I gave the host an option of cancelling as I would not increase the amount. He was extremely accusative and rude. Unfortunately he did not cancel 2. I received subsequent messages “have you made up your mind” and other rude messages - unprofessionalism continued 3. Accommodation is a self acclaimed “self check-in” - it is not the case. Unlike other self check ins the code was not provided in advance. When arriving we were asked for additional $25 for late fee and a rude awakening - our flight was delayed and out of our control 4. The self check in requires a photo of front and back of card - personally I feel unacceptable due to privacy risks 5. The self checkin emails are spam prior, during and after booking. I received over 10 after I had completed the non-user friendly “self check in “ form requesting me to check-in 6. You are welcomed by a stench of cat urine 7. The host claims “we are not dirty but our guests may be” - the bathroom was not cleaned in all 3 days. It was disgusting 8. The linen is stained 9. The rooms feel like a sauna

The only thing this property has for it is the location. Even for basic accommodation I would not classify it as value for money - I’ve travelled the world from India to NYC - backpacker to hotels and this is not value for money.

Smell of cat urine in the building. The manager was rude, he was constantly asking for cash, knocking on the door early in the morning, He clicked his fingers at me and just generally spoke down to me. There were ants in the room. The room didn’t look as advertised at all. The electricity was off in the room on the first night.

Mattress should have been thrown out ten years ago. The mould around the back of the bathroom sink on the third floor was thick, very old, and disgusting. The shower was no better with old empty shampoo, conditioner, and soap bottles everywhere over the floor with all the wall pump containers empty. The scum all over the sink was gross.

The hostel is literally 30 seconds from the main beach and few minutes walking to reach the Corso. Big kitchen to cook. Andy, the manager, it’s absolutely the best person to have around. Always happy to have a chat and to give you suggestions on Manly and much more.

Guest house/back packers rely on kitchen cleanliness of other guests. It wasn’t bad during my visit. You need to be flexible. Very good for price and position

Large, clean room ; very comfortable bed., friendly informative manager. Amazing position, close to Manly beach (1 min walk at end of street). Close to restaurants and public transport.

Wasn't clean, staff banged on the door at 9.30 and asked if we were checking out. When we said yes at 10, he said yep it's 9.30. Photos of cc, front and back was taken on check in, not necessary!

Owner gave away our room without any notice or even telling us. We only found out when we contacted him when we arrived. He was very disrespectful and rude to both me and my partner on the phone. He laughed at us and told us it wasn’t his problem that he had given away our room (that was paid for in full). He then proceeded to be rude and hung up on us. This was also following a 30 hour plane journey from the uk. Not what you need when you are that tired and jet lagged.

Never even got to see it. Owner gave away our room four days before we had even arrived.

Checkin should have been 2pm. I messaged and called with no response. No response for 6.5 hours. I finally got a call at 8:30pm to I assume say I could get let in. I had already made another booking. They have now charged me. Not answering emails.
