Given the quantity of guests that place can be rather noisy but reasonably well insulated from the rooms. Negotiating the stairs with bulky luggage may be a challenge.

A very large hostel but rather well operated. The crockery is in a different room to the kitchen but the arrangement seems to function well enough. The location (Pitt St) is convenient

We got the room a bit at the back. Therefore the WiFi was not working so good. Also the window could not be shut properly, we could hear the noise from the outside.

This was the second time I booked the room. Love the location, love the event hosted by them. I love how everyone was cooking their own meal here because the kitchen was spacious.

The terrace area is not really outside so miss having like an outside area. The hostel is very warm and limited windows so with no airflow/aircon it can get very stuffy and hot everywhere inside

The events in the evening make it easy to meet others and the rooms/kitchen area were always very clean which is rare for such a big hostel. Kitchen was also very big so easy for everyone to use

Very loud music was playing somewhere outside every night, perhaps in the pub next door. It stopped at 11pm. Also my room was next to the outside evacuation staircase and I could hear a very constant hum all night from the air conditioning unit or some other machine.

Original room (yellow 54): I booked a twin or double room with a bunk bed and although it was more private than a regular dorm which was great, the power socket near the wall was really hard to reach behind the bed and the room was a lot smaller than the photos. The fan reached my bunk really well (top bunk) and I felt comfortable but it didn't reach my friends bunk and she could smell bad smells. But the staff were really understanding and moved us to a triple room with more space. Upgraded room (blue 39): Really spacious but didn't have a fly screen on the window which made me concerned that flies could come in, also the billiards said we weren't allowed to have food in the room so if you are feeling introverted you would need to eat somewhere else. The room felt a lot more comfortable and the fan was really good for both of us.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, they gave us instructions, a friendly vibe and upgraded our room for free after we felt uncomfortable in the room I booked. Good security, towels, linen and different things each day to look forward to like vouchers, activities and freebies. When we checked out they gave us our cash deposits back straight away. All of the different colours in the property to organise the rooms was great. Great presentation.

The room was very warm and hard to cool down despite having all windows open. No elevator but thankfully the building only has 2 floors.

Very good location right at the edge of CBD so everything was easy to reach or just a couple of stop on the tram. Check in/out was smooth and staff was friendly. Good wifi in the room which seems to be uncommon for backpackers

The kitchen was small considering the size of the hostel; this is also where they have social events so if you don’t cook before the social starts the kitchen area is loud and jam packed! Compared to other hostels the kitchen / eating area shuts quite early. Walls are also quite thin so can hear people coming back to their rooms at all hours of the morning.

The location is great to explore Sydney from and compared to other hostels it’s good value for money. Staff are always on hand cleaning. Showers were decent.

The facilities show significant wear and tear. Because of this, places like the bathroom areas felt a bit grubby.

The friendly staff makes this place shine. It's conveniently located in Chinatown, so very central with good access to public transportation. It's a large hostel, but it never felt overcrowded.

Typical Ozzie hot summer weather made the room unbearably hot. Only wall fan in room ventilated only top bunk. At minimum should consider providing an extra floor fan. It’s a huge hostel with A LOT of guests which made finding refrigerator space a big challenge.

Location & Staff- GREAT! Big kitchen. Hostel provides nightly activities that are fun & a great way to socialize.
