How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

cleanliness a little lacking. Exterior noise was not an issue, but adjacent rooms or hallways were a bit noisy.
Downtown location is exceptional, close to sights. Restaurants and cafes close, as well as green space. Transportation is easy by train or on foot.

Unfortunately, the elevator was broken down and my room located at 6floor. Hotel staff helped me to bring the luggage to the room, but when I needed to check-out early time when the the reception closed, i needed to bring my 30kg luggage from 6 floor to ground floor at 6:30AM. Other than this problem, this hotel is valuable for solo traveler.

The bed had just a slight lean (away from the wall, which meant having to adjust position during the night. If it could be levelled up it would be fine. It might just need the mattress turning over. The TV screen was set very high (close to ceililng) and could be better if it was set lower down on a flexible support arm. Not a problem for me as I didn't need to use it.
Bathroom was good, with a great shower. Loved the Dilma tea bags.

The receptionist who was there during our check-in said there are wifi details in each room but there was none. When I called to ask for the PW, she was so impatient so I was only able to connect my gadget but not my daughter's gadget.
I like almost everything.

I have no complaints about this hotel. Sure, the room was a little small with very little storage but the price and location made up for it. Great budget hotel.

I don't know what you should expect in Sydney and am not complaining. But... the room was small, as was the TV, and I had trouble connecting to it to stream. Building was accessed via a nondescript corridor off the street with the reception up a level in the lift. There was nothing grand about the place, but again, I don't know how that ranks given the price.
I enjoyed my stay with no concerns. Great location right in the middle of everything. Clean, including unexpected room servicing during the middle day. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom good too. Had all of the basics and the staff were great, including making me real coffees after I'd checked out and was using the lounge to do some work before flying home.

Nothing, as if I would have had a restaurant l wouldn’t have got everything accomplished. The only disadvantage was the one I looked at for my evening meal closed by the time I got there. So my alternative wasn’t very good.
I wasn’t sure what to expect with the excellent price, but it was due to the fact there was only 1 bed in the room, l only need one so no problem. Quiet due to it’s location off the main corridor and I like a dark room, l didn’t even think to look outside as it was dark when I got back anyway. Short walk down to Darling Harbour and the Big Bus tour, really helpful driver. The following morning they booked a taxi for me and looked after my luggage until the afternoon. So no problems at all.

Needed instruction on use of air conditioning system. Bedding was too heavy. Needed layers so I could eliminate some.
