Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Australiaa bit more room and a bathroom that was in the room and didn't require us to go into the public area to access it. also we found the stairs were steep and narrow, which made it difficult to get a large suitcase up them

AustraliaB&B with no breakfast, nor offered any. No screens on the windows, which allowed bugs to get in. No hot water at all, cold showers only. Was advised to park on the main street in the middle of town, as this provided better security. Had to wait 45 mins to check in, and this was in the local diner. Bathroom was not situated in the room. Coffee and tea facilities not in the room. A totally dismal stay.
Good comfortable bed. Nothing else.

AustraliaBed and bathroom aren’t connected even though it says private bathroom. There’s no privacy going from bedroom to bathroom. Run more like a hostel than a bnb. There’s no breakfast unless you pay extra $20 each. Rooms on the small size. Long list of dos and don’ts made for an unwelcome welcome. The kitchen is a shared facility. There were no spoons supplied and very little cooking utensils supplied. Couldn’t find plates and only one saucepan. Greeting was, “here’s your key and make sure you remove your shoes”. There was no welcome information. Other guests escaped to their rooms and heard muttering about lack of tea/coffee facilities like enough mugs for everyone staying over. Might be historic but staff seemed to be disingenuous at best. The steps up to the apartment are very steep so getting bags up etc you need to watch your step.
Bed was comfortable

Australia25 stairs on arrival was a challenge for a person with hip problems and no prior warning given with booking. Broken front door did not give good initial impression. Sign at foot of stairs to take off shoes to climb stairs was a bit much. Ensuite bathroom was not, as it was down the corridor. Keys kept falling off keyring and locks were difficult to operate. Had to collect key from nearby cafee. On departure caffe was closed and no one to see our departure or give keys to.
Location was good. Bed was fine.

AustraliaThere was a general lack of presence that I would expect from a B&B. The long list of “don’ts” established a sense of mistrust that then expressed itself across the stay. For all practical purposes, there was a limited breakfast option. It was far more convenient to eat at one of three other early morning options given a five-minute walk. The kitchenette (with no microwave) had a small range of communal cereal boxes which didn’t seem consistent with a customer attentive service.
Yes, it’s great that the location and building are centrally situated in the heart of West Wyalong - a lovely town. The accommodation is comfortably furnished and the digital services provide good connectivity to the web. As others noted the bedding was a highlight (as was the heating) all you need for a good night’s sleep throughout Winter!

AustraliaCouldn’t find the address as it is above a shop. Very annoying. Owner had to ring us to give directions. Had to climb very steep stairs to find the bedroom from either the front or back. No where to hang bath towel. No water glass in the room. Only shower soap provided. Poor selection of breakfast cereals. Got woken at 3 with noise in the alley way.

AustraliaThe property was advertised as a Bed and Breakfast but in fact did not serve breakfast, a small serve of breakfast cereal was in a canister in a cupboard not enough for the 3 guests staying there. The window above my bed would not shut and the night got down to one degree. The room was advertised as having a bathroom, it did but it was not attached to the room and accessed off the common hallway.
A very comfy bed in a beautifully decorated room.

Australia“En suite” facilities were in common access area, so going to the bathroom meant getting dressed each time. Room was very small, no wardrobe or any tables, and was atop a very long staircase. Too bad if your bags were heavy.
