How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Ventilation was a bit poor - would be nicer to be able to open a window or vent (probably difficult to retrofit this though !). The amenities area (above bar fridge) was very cramped, hard to use on an extended stay.
Ice machine (in basement) was very good. Great to have 2 chairs and space for 2 x laptops on the desk in our room. Bedside lighting was good. Parking availability was good. Open shelving on bedside tables was great - less chance of leaving items behind. Bathroom and shower were very good, plenty of pressure. Air-con was easy to control.

You have to pay for parking, even the hotel is far from CBD. Gambling machines between hotel and breakfast area.

I had to pay for parking, upon booking it stated that parking was available, that is one reason why we chose the accommodation. No cost was every involved or option to pay prior, so expected it was included in the price

The buffet breakfast was awful and very expensive. Only tried it once and glad had not paid for it as part of room charge.
Room was good for two (quite large with a sofa area) and our two rooms were located close together which was good for our family stay. Easy parking and hotel access. Located in a nice safe walkable area.

The only restaurant that was open to eat at was the labour club wanted something a little nicer but we still had a lovely meal

I can’t think of anything.
Loved how clean the room was. The room freshened up, tea and coffee refilled daily by house keeping. Staff were very friendly and offered us an upgrade. So close to all tourist places and so many wonderful cafes close by. Excellent amount of parking.

Change up the breakfast menu, even if it is the eggs, fried eggs too much every day, benedict would be lovely
We have had Breakfast there every time we stay, the last time we stayed 6 nights and could not order what we liked it as a set menu and had to have the same every day

The in room safe is far to small. It is only suitable for an iPad mini sized device and other small valuables. A 13” laptop will not fit, so had to take it everywhere with me in day pack. The pendant feature light is of no use. It is an inconvenient, unsafe ‘decoration’ and should be replaced with a bed side lamp.

Would have preferred to have a microwave, toaster, crockery and cutlery provided in the room.
A spotless and comfortable room and a spacious bathroom with a great shower and large soft towels. Secure on-site parking was provided at a modest price.

Breakfast was a bit limited in choice and juice etc needed to be replenished. Location was excellent close to shops, restaurants and lake and walking tracks.parking was convenient and easy as was access to rooms.

Not directly the hotel, but the cooked breakfast in the Labour Club was varied. Warm the first morning, cold the second morning and warm but lacking the same quality on the third morning.
Room was clean and tidy. Room service was a little lacking, though we put this down to it being Christmas and only having skeleton staff on duty

The front desk staff were so nice and super helpful. They even had to work on Christmas and still had the best temperament. The cleaners were all lovely and the room was exceptional!
