Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaUnfortunately the TV settings were difficult to manouver. Perhaps a printed operational guide would be helpful.
Having to check into the hotel near midnight it was comforting to be greeted at the all day and night desk through a well lit entrance without the awkwardness of passwords or numbers to find. The pleasant manners of my first experience at the front desk was repeated by each person throughout my 3 day stay. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean, smelled fresh and was well furnished. The shower was really good and the bathroom well lit. The delicious espresso coffee and snacks always available was a deffinite plus.

I was able to get an early check in which I much appreciated. I did find the remote confusing but I managed to find the TV option. Good thick out blinds to keep the room dark.

Fitted our needs. We'll located for the Macquarie University Hospital, which was so convenient for us. Very clean and I liked the flexibility they offered as we had to extend our stay.

AustraliaMost of the Mercure hotels I have stayed in provides dental kits, hair dryer is always in the room. This hotel only provides dental kit to member, if I didn’t remember that I am a member the staff wud’t have provided any for me and my friend. We also had to ring Reception 3 times just for this, the 3rd time was when they told us that we have to a member for them to deliver the toothbrushes, which we were already waiting for over an hour.
I like how the hotel is near the mall.

AustraliaOnly a minor thing - usually hotels supply toothpaste however we had to pay three dollars for a little sachet. In saying that, we could have signed up to the hotel and it would’ve been free.
The property was close to our destination which was excellent. It was fairly quiet and the pillows were comfy. I appreciated the soap dispensers in the shower, they smelt delicious.
