There was no map offered on arrival. The wifi in my room wasn't working on the first night. Also, when I ordered fish and chips for room service, the fish came out of a box. It was exactly the same fish out of a box that I had eaten two weeks before. The chips were frozen chips - well cooked but not fresh. Charging $35 for fish and chips from the supermarket is NOT ON. Also, there was no vegetarian option on the room service menu.

The second day, we returned to our room around 6.00pm to find that the room had not been serviced. I complained to the manager who stated that all the service staff had gone home as if that was an end to the matter. I persisted, saying that was his problem, not mine, and I wasn't sleeping in an unmade bed. Pointing out the we were paying him a lot of money for the privilege of no having to make our own bed. He eventually found someone to make the bed, but the rest didn't get done until the following day. I remember thinking at the time that it would have been nice to have an apology. I guess that was too much to expect. The pillows were too hard and uncomfortable. There didn't seem to be a softer option . The breakfast was a little hit and miss. One day, the bacon was perfect, and the next, it was burnt to a crisp. One day, the scrabbled egg was swimming in liquid the next it was not

Not a lot. This used to be a really nice hotel when it was a Travelodge. Presumably, the new owners thought that they could do better, but they haven't. It's a cold, soleless place, self service check in is OK for a 25yr old but in your 70s it's confusing, expected to download their app when your UK phone doesn't work in Australia is a joke. We ended up being helped by a young lady who seemed to be there just to help customers use the machines. So if you are going to have people hanging around, why not ditch the machines and bring the receptionist back. There is nothing nicer than being greeted by a smiling face.

The bathroom shower design means the floor gets very wet. Not a problem for me as I had a spare towel to dry things up a little, but probably not ideal for the hotel!

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The location is very close to my work needs, but also close to the train station and Sydney shopping area.

Not enough storage space or coat hangars which we did get when requested.

Have stayed at this hotel a few times over the years and found the change to Novotel positive. We were greeted by Thushara on reception and he was extremely helpful with providing the right room for us. We also found Thushara made time to explain things in Sydney and checked with us on our return that all was well. We found the room very comfortable but it could do with some drawers and top space to put things on. We had to ask for more coat hangars as we only had three and were staying for a week, they arrived within ten minutes of asking, good service. We didn't like the menu in the restaurant so didn't use it this time. We will use this hotel again when we return to Sydney, the location is excellent for getting around to the main sights in Sydney.

Parking is deceiving at Booking.com are not included when I choose with parking, arrived at hotel extra charge. However the Manager was lovely to accommodate and gave us 50% off. Thank you 😊

The street is quite noisy at night and you could hear the noise. It would be better if they change the windows for soundproof ones.

The hotel room was quite big, the beds were comfortable and a decent size. The location is quite good if you want to visit the center by foot.

Staff wasn't the most helpful. My kid and wife were not well and they had to really struggle for basic help like meals being delivered to the room. Cleaning was not upto the mark as would be expected from Novotel.
