Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaThe stains and smell of the couch in the living room. Was damp and unusable unless you like smelly wet couches, ya nasty. People before us probably overused it instead of the bed. Just a few pointers that posh or overly clean people might not like. Which I didn't mind. - the fridge aesthetic, looks like moey got mad and knuckled the fridge instead of dry wall or bing lee has a kyle special - bottom inside door frame of the bathroom, got a rusty nail leaking through the paint. Jessica may not feel like she's in Dubai Besides these small imperfections, I would rebook if the room reflected the price.
Definitely the view. Bedroom TV and available washing and dryer machine. Internet. And the pillows were 🤌 Close proximity to shops and restaurants to grab your snacks or take your partner out. Thank you for reading my TED talk.

United StatesOur first apartment was on the 10th floor, if you open the window you get a persistent kitchen exhaust smell, presumably from some grill bar on the street. Our second apartment on the 34th floor didn't have that problem. Some things in the apartments are starting to show wear and tear, e.g. doors don't close properly, showers seals leak, bathroom sinks don't drain well, kitchen knives can use sharpening / replacement etc. nothing major though.
The apartments are good size and are quite modern. Staff were helpful. There is a swimming pool, gym on premises. Very nice views of the Parramatta downtown and even distant views of the Sydney center. Parramatta is a major train station, it is about 15 min easy walk from the hotel, trains into the city are frequent. There is a huge shopping center (Westfields) right next to the station and many many different restaurants and bars to go to.

AustraliaI was annoyed I couldn’t pay cash at reception. Card payment forces me to pay credit card surcharge and I think that is unreasonable to not give customers the choice to pay with cash or card. Cash is legal tender and should be accepted.
