Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaEnsuite layout could improve. From more room to having some bench space. Bedroom could also have a comfortable couch rather than the 2 chairs.
Location and how it is set around the Goulburn River is just beautiful.

AustraliaNothing, I loved my stay and I would love to come back.
I feel my feedback on the breakfast would be rather subjective and not a true representation of an objective review, so it could be considered unfair. EG. my coffee was served too cool for my liking. The type of bread used for my toast was quite stodgy.

AustraliaWe would have loved a microwave to be able to heat our baby's food easily, and our room had a slightly damp smell that didn't go away even with airing.
We have stayed at Mitchelton Hotel twice before and this time was just as enjoyable. It was out first time with a baby but the staff were lovely, the room was spacious and easily fit our Porta cot with room for play, and the pool was amazing with the weather we had. The views, the river, the restaurants, the wine, the spa. Mitchelton hotel literally has it all.

Amazing , we didn’t have to leave the property which was amazing , from massages - lunch at the cafe , to dinner - wine tasting - pool & art gallery. This was the best hotel we have stayed in. So relaxing , rooms were lovely . We will defiently return.

AustraliaThe only downside was limited parking under cover. I never had trouble finding a parking spot, however the undercover ones fill up quick, which was only a problem as it was summer and hot when we went there so the car was out in the sun. If it was cooler it wouldn't be so much of a problem. Just gotta find an undercover spot and not move.
Champagne on arrival was a nice and un-expected touch. The rooms are nice, plenty of features, the hotel has a pool also, and it feels modern. The pool is heated too (well it was warm so I assume it was). Would stay there again for sure.

AustraliaThe room was a little small for my liking, and the pool closed way too early ( 8pm).
Laura from reception was awesome from day one. She was extremely friendly, hospitable, and provided exceptional experience for my partner and I. She is definitely an asset to The Mitchelton Hotel,

AustraliaThis is the perfect couples escape. We have been before but were keen to return and use the pool. It did not disappoint. Amazing heated outdoor infinity pool in a bush setting. Beautiful rooms with views of the river and surroundings. Amazing aboriginal gallery and lookout tower with new bar. Loved the e-bikes.

AustraliaA wonderful experience: delicious wine, great food, impressive art, historic architecture, picturesque location and great facilities, but most of all, fantastic, helpful and friendly staff. Our wine tasting experience was thoroughly enjoyable thanks to the knowledge and generosity of our host. As well as great wines, she also introduced us to the benefits of joining the wine club. Thanks to the can-do attitude of Anthony at reception he promptly applied the wine club discount to our hotel stay. All throughout our stay and dining experience the positive attitude of the staff was evident. The morale of the staff is a credit to the owner. We were also in awe of the indigenous art on display at the gallery which needs to be promoted more - it’s fantastic. Our stay at the Mitchelton was the highlight of our holiday - highly recommended

AustraliaGetting in and out of other locations. Want to be based with yourselves, however wanting to have a few drinks and not rely on a designated driver would add to the experience. Ideally, arrive at venue, and have access to transport for the group (we had 4 people) and go to different spots.
All of it. Terrific stuff.

AustraliaVery poor lighting In restaurant made it extremely difficult to see the food on our plates. Only Mitchelton wines available by glass for dinner, no choice if you’re not into Mitchelton wines - warms beer & soft drinks for us.
Clean, lovely warm. Open fireplaces In reception & restaurant, great food in restaurant. Fabulous shower, extremely comfortable bed, stocked bar fridge in room. Great pool for the summer and a gym with a variety of equipment.

AustraliaIt's borderlining on the overpriced, noting the location and available activities close by. Breakfast used to be included as a part of your stay. However, now it's an added cost, and for what it's worth, eggs on toast aren't worth paying the price charged, but unfortunately, unless you wish to take a quick trip in the car to Nagambie, you havent got any choice but to eat there. The bed we had was extremely saggy, which is not something you want when you're paying top dollar. The temperature control is locked, so for those who want a different climate, bad luck.
Being in the middle of a winery has its advantages. Being the restaurant and cellar door. Also, a spa is available for a bit of R&R. There is also an Aboriginal based gallery that is free to enter.

AustraliaThere wasn't anything I didn't like.
A great overnight stay at a hotel with great attention to detail. Location on the banks of the Goulburn River was beautiful and helped you feel immersed in a very special environment. A longer stay and we would have made use of the ebikes for further adventuring.
