Just the pool to be warmer, everything else was perfect

Absolutely loved our stay at Beechworth house. It had a very European feel and waking up to a beautifully cooked breakfast made by Denis was the perfect way to start the day. Carol was amazing at taking care of us and made us feel so comfortable making sure we had everything we needed. Watching her feed the kookaburras was the cutest! The grounds were immaculate and so was our room. The bathroom in particular is stunning! It was warm enough to sit by the pool but I didn’t brave jumping in which was the only shame. It was too cold but hopefully next time I visit it will be so hot that I appreciate the cool temperature of the water. Overall such an incredible stay and we cannot wait to come back

We were in awe of this place, beautifully appointed and nestled in lovely Beechworth. The staff were exceedingly lovely and welcoming, just wish we had a little more time to make the most of their facilities such as the pool and to experience morning tea + dinner. Our time was short but Beechworth house definitely left a mark, we will definitely be back!

Beechworth House offers delightful boutique accommodation within walking distance of historic Beechworth. A warm welcome awaits guests from hosts Denis & Carolyn. The accommodation is seperate to the main house, is beautifully furnished in a contemporary but homely style and has all of the amenities that one requires for a perfect stay. One of the joys of staying at this very fine property is the gourmet food available for both breakfast and dinner. Denis & Carolyn also have a superb wine cellar and offer a diverse range of both local and international wines at reasonable prices. We highly recommend Beechworth House but book direct for the best deal.

Superb hosts, beautiful property, spacious accommodation. We pretty much loved everything about Beechworth House. The grounds were delightful and nothing was too much trouble for Denis our very gracious host. Whether it was a recommendation for dinner in town or whipping up a lemon meringue tart for afternoon team after long drive from Canberra, to a beautifully presented brekkie - there were no disappointments!

Nothing, we loved it and would love to come back if we can!

We were in a ‘small’ room, but was lovely and spacious and fabulous facilities. The gardens and magnesium pool were a bonus that we made the most of, and little touches like having robes and slippers in the room made us feel like we were at a five star retreat! Denis and Carolyn were amazing hosts and helped us plan our meals and recommended a fabulous wine for our first dinner. Breakfast was bought to our room which was such a treat and all the food was incredible! They also gave us some fab recommendations for the rest of our trip and we will absolutely be telling all our friends and family about Beechworth house. If we are ever fortunate to be back in Australia I am certain we will plan a return visit to Beechworth house!

Everything! Denis & Carolyn are wonderful hosts, our very attractive accommodation recently renovated had a super comfortable bed & the garden setting with fabulous pool is just gorgeous. Our breakfast and dinners were exceptional- Denis is an amazing trained French chef, with an extensive wine cellar to complement our meals. Denis could even adjust his brilliant cooking to accommodate food intolerances. Carolyn kept us well supplied with coffee pods, milk, pool towels & looked after our dining table. We were treated with special delights during our 6 day stay - chocolate & lemon tart for morning tea one morning, a jar of delicious home made plum jam & a lovely desert wine for our final dinner to accompany Denis’s stunning lemon soufflés. We had perfect Autumn weather 🌞

Absolutely nothing!

Our stay was beyond exceptional. Having travelled many places of the world I can say that when it comes to service and food Beechworth house tops it all. Dennis and Caroline were absolutely incredible and are the reason we would keep coming back. The house itself is incredible, clean and close to town. The rooms have everything you need and the attention to detail is second to none. The magnesium pool is perfect for the property and lovely to relax in after a long day. Very dog friendly as your pooches can roam the secured property and feel like valued guests too. I've saved the best for last and that is the food that Dennis cooks. If you stay on site you have to dine in house. The food Dennis produces blows me away and it was that good we even cancelled our reservation in town to dine another night at Beechworth house. We are already planning our next visit back and can't wait!

Gary loved his omelettes but would like to have the option of a”big breakfast.” I loved the fruit platter and croissants but some yoghurt with the fruit and butter with the croissants would have been nice. We loved the gardens and pool. The room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Our evening meal cooked by Denis was very special. The chocolate tart when we left was another special treat.

the house is nice, quite and in very good condition. Inside is pretty new and get all facilities. location is also good, easy to go to everywhere. Denis (landlord) was very hospitable. He introduced the room to us and also recommended some cafes/ breweries/ restaurants in Beechworth.

Beautiful gardens and room. I just wished we had stayed longer and enjoyed the pool and cooking! Carolyn and Denis were great hosts and very happy to let my two dogs roam the property.

This is very personal, although not far from town we had to drive to town. This wouldn't have mattered. But the roads aren't conducive to walking a dog to town or running ( no side walks ). So dog walking was a drive to town and tire him out in town. The room itself is strange with the bath tub facing the room. I think I read this on another review before booking but it's confronting when you are actually in the room. Nature is great except when you get surprised by a dead Lorikeet at your feet by the pool. A hazard known due to the glass covering the pool. I ( Linda) freak out at anything not moving so was a bit shaken.

The property is gorgeous. You are one with nature. The Kookaburras up close; Lorikeet and Magpies. Sitting on the porch listening to birds a contrast from the city trains, planes and automobiles ( inner west Sydney). The room was great for 2 nights. Dennis and Caroline made us feel welcome including at short notice adding us on for the in house dinner which was delicious. Saved having to think about dinner after a drive from Sydney. Beechworth has a lot to offer and we look forward to returning to the town in the future
