How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Everything was fine and as we had expected.
The location was great, the room was clean and quiet, and the beds were comfortable. Great value for money and perfect for the purposes of our overnight trip to the coast.

Was last Hotel that was leftover in the area. This because of the fact that there was a Holiday in Canberra. Was good place to sleep but not for being there longer tha one night.

The only thing I didn't like was I asked for late checkout, just for my 80 year old Mum while my kids and I were on a boat trip. But the owner said no because he would have to pay the cleaner. I believe he could have let my Mum sit in a chair and watch TV, not messing anything up. I mean, she is 80 years old. I was hoping for a little bit of compassion. :(

Location very convenient and shopping centre nearby. Highway address made access easy. Quiet even with highway traffic.

The kitchen wasn't clean so I needed to wipe out the fridge a bit before using it but I got to use the kitchen at no extra cost, which I appreciated. No pool and traffic noise wasn't great.
I was given a bigger room, at no extra cost, with a kitchen as I was staying 4 nights . Very helpful!

The hotel is a bit dated but value for money
Shower good and bed comfortable. These are important when travelling. Kitchen was well equipped.

The bathroom and toilet is tight but it is ok for me. :)
A good place to stay for seeing Pyramid Rock and Head Horse beach as well as Australian Rock. PArking in front of the room which is very good. The location is central.

Bed quilt and sheets didn't look clean. Motel is beside the road, and it is not quite quiet

Hotel wifi was really bad and unfortunately optus didn’t have a good service there

Very small rooms, not much soundproofing with all rooms opening out onto the carpark (one of our blinds didn’t shut fully meaning people could easily see in as they walked past). Beds are a double so much smaller than your average queen size bed.
Very affordable stay (especially during peak season), room was simple and relatively clean (some spots in the bathroom needed attention but overall not bad). Fine for a quick overnight stay if you’re not looking for anything special.

Old and run down, could do with a freshen up, no amenities in the bathroom ie shampoo and conditioner. Check in was brief, not much was offered in terms of what was around to see/experience, but I also arrived in an urgent situation so he may have been being respectful of my space.
It was close to woolworths, comfortable beds, communal kitchen had appliances and well signed, generous fridge

For me, there was nothing specific I didn't like. I guess the only criticism would be that the motel itself is in need of a major upgrade to bring it into the future. However I value some of these vintage accommodation styles as a living history.
Location was in a quiet part of town. Some traffic but minimal overnight very peaceful for a town motel.

Initially we thought the room was average and very basic, however the provision of the kitchen facilities were amazing and handy as, making it work really well. The provision of outdoor chairs and table added to the room so all round it was a comfortable stay that exceeded our expectations and initial perceptions

The bed was short and hard to sleep on, so not a restful night sleep. No PowerPoint's at bedside, so it made it hard to charge my equipment for the night
