It was exactly what we needed. It was clean and tidy. The shared bathroom was spotless. To be honest, I didn't see anyone the whole time. It was so quiet and a fantastic location with a view of the Harbour Bridge. The parking was fine, we parked onsite.

The stairs to the kitchen were VERY steep and narrow and again potentially dangerous. The carpet throughout the Lodge was well worn.

The location was excellent. We managed to park our car on the premises each night. The facilities were very clean however during the torrential rain on the Thurs/Friday, water was covering the kitchen floor in the morning which made it quite dangerous to walk on. The reception and cleaning staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient.

Location and closeness to great harbour area. Good local handy transport - ferry and bus. 15minutes to Sydney Circular Quay by ferry. Lovely neighbourhood. Enjoyable to walk around with beautiful homes - friendly locals and good local eateries

The Wi-Fi didn’t work at all. We asked about it but nothing changed.

The property was nice and cosy. Exactly what we needed for days out. Facilities were easy to use. Kitchen kept clean throughout.

Lack of Aircon. It's just unfortunate it's been a hot summer. I hadn't even noticed on my previous stays, and realised I've always stayed here previously in winter.

As mentioned above we had a problem with the smell of bug spray in our room

We had a small problem with our room when we arrived, however the lovely girl in charge did her best to accommodate us and was able to swap our room for the last few nights, her customer service was 10/10. The location is great, nice quiet suburb but close to the ferry meaning it’s a short ride to circular quays.

Much of the decor is unattractive and dated. The Compendium is out of date - there is no longer a BBQ area. There was only one restaurant within easy walking distance. There is no lift, and the stairs are steep and narrow (as you'd expect in an old house). No air-conditioning and no evidence of heating.

This old house was a boarding house in the 1930s and some parts of the building don't seem to have changed much since then. The bathroom was modern and clean and the bed comfortable. The Lodge is a short walk (up a hill) from the Neutral Bay Ferry Wharf. There was no traffic noise. Close to May Gibbs' Nutcoat.

No air-conditioning on a 35 degree day! I wish we knew this beforehand..we both could barely sleep in the heat and the mattress felt really hot so my friend just slept on the floor! It's an old building, but I thought it might still have some mod cons!

My only bugbear, it's now the middle of summer and no aircon is a huge issue. Hoping for my next stay in a few weeks to be more comfortable, as I have a room with a bathroom booked.

The No lines out the front for car parking - or a sign or prior warning of how many cars can fit in the parking space. I would be interested to know what that building was back in the day, what it was built to be - I support now using it as a hotel over developers building medium density apartments. I wish I knew there was a corner store just down the road- I should have been more organised. It was Thursday and I was going to a formal gathering, I hadn't had a shave since Monday. Google maps made it fun to find the place. The ferry wharf nearby made it easy to get to the city - where I was going.

The heritage features and size of the small sized [meaning personalised size] of the building and owner operator feeling. The fact I could get a room there last minute. With on site parking.
