Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaPlace was a pigsty.Dirty Rubbish overflowing from rubbish bins in communal areas like the kitchen and hallways and bathrooms. No extra blankets or pillows provided.Bars on the outside windows gives this place a jail like feel. I could hear other guests snoring in the room next door. The contact staff sound like they are outsourced to the united states and when I asked for an extra blanket their response was to move me to a different hotel.Their appears to be regular tenants also staying their.Bathrooms were not private and multi gender with window sized glass for anyone to look through while you are taking a shower. No privacy! On the day I checked out early I did not stay the full seven nights someone had smeared faeces on the bathroom mirror.Worst place I have ever stayed at Alloggio should be reported to the NSW health department for their lack of attention and clearly breaching health standards.Forgot to mention Dirty bathroom towels sheets and blankets were piled up in the hallways the entire time was there.
The Location close to Newcastle City on the bus route.

AustraliaThere were people fighting in the hallways and discussing drugs. Abusing each other. Toilets were constantly filthy and there were no cleaners to attend to them over the weekends and the codes ro the doors would change randomly with no explanation and you would have to call and wait for a new one to get in. There was also blood in the carpet
Wifi was really really good and it was cheap but that’s about it

AustraliaCockroaches, the old worn carpet and room didn't feel clean. leftover used milk, soft drink and alcohol bottles including the container full of unknown liquid. No remote control for the TV, No microwave, no toaster, No curtains over all the windows to lessen the noise and morning Sun. No bedside lamp. Not any type of cutlery and crockery ( but there was a jug, tea and sugar). The shared showers would be better if they don't smell of urine. the shared toilets could be cleaned daily or at the least 2nd day. The shared kitchen had no cutlery and crockery and only had a sandwich maker, saucepan and pot that were all dirty for the entire stay. Same with the kitchen sink full of discarded noodles. The onsite laundry looked decrepit and a local stayer recommended using a laundromat up the road.
The extra drop bolt on the door to keep people out. The a/c worked.

AustraliaWhere to start, the rooms are grubby and not as photos the longer term residents are weird and creepy and always fighting when drunk , in relation to health and safety there is none as to when you open the bathroom door and find that one of the residents has peed over the floor in front of the hand basin on the third night then to top it off they pooed all over the floor on our last night have photos . after reading the rest of the reviews this may have to be directed else wear as management don’t seem to be addressing the issues. Would be a great stay with a tidy up and no residents.

AustraliaWe walked into the place and it smelled like urine. Key code to get in didn't get sent to me, I had to ring someone to get the code. After 6 attempts at ringing I finally got hold of someone to talk to about it, I was then text the code but was informed it wouldn't work until 3 pm. Check in was at 2pm.

AustraliaThe smell in my room was like stale urine. The TV aerial connection was broken. The Zip hot water in the kitchen didn't work. The bathroom could do with a couple of shelves.
Off-street parking. Proximity to city and local shops. Generally tidy. There was a kitchen with fridge and sink.

AustraliaToilet dirty and the cleaning schedule wasn't daily. It was filthy. I had to refrain from using it. Which is very uncomfortable. I waited 3 days for them to clean. Neighbors very noisy. The pindpad to unlock main door is very fiddly and took me ages to get in every time. Laundry facility is in shameful condition. Unhygienic. Blanked had obvious yellow stains.
Location is good, and TV in room.

AustraliaFirst impression was the smell, smell like a someone hasn't showered for a few days. The room that I stayed in (106) wasn't renovated at all. Paint layers on the wall started to fall off. There were dust on the bed and shelves. The bathroom were not cleaned well (paper rolls falling on the floor, someone even left a soaked towels on the shower floor). Understanding that it was a last minute booking and and we selected the cheapest option, but this room shouldn't be considered inhabitable in the first place for it to be on rent. Felt like 91$/night should be better than this.
Convenient and easy access.
