All of the ‘good’ bits were online but not necessary operational. the jumping pillow wasn’t working, our cabin was very dated and not like the pic online at all.

Although dated it was VERY clean. the beds were comfy and the location was quite, relaxed, peaceful a small just a short drive to the beach where we set up for the day.

The cabins were a great size and perfect for a family. On the downside the cabins are definitely a bit dated and in need of some updates and repairs.

The location was fantastic and it was quiet and nicely spread out. The bar and restaurant were very nice and service was good.

Time of year, covid restrictions and weather all contributed to making this less than enjoyable for us. Power to one circuit tripped on the first night, so no aircon and the fridge was off until discovered the next day. The stove/frypan did not get hot enough to cook pancakes, so we went to one of the camp bbqs - which also took ages to cook with poor results. The property had advertised lots of facilities, but they were all closed during the Christmas/new year holiday period - no rock climbing, no laser skirmish, etc. The 4 teenagers I traveled with were very disappointed, and of course, the wet weather made traveling to the beach unappealing as well - warnings for dangerous surf and a lot of thoughtless 4WD users on the beach meant we only tried once. Had to travel by ferry back to the mainland to get meals as the bar/bistro was operating on reduced hours, closing at 4pm. The one lunch meal we had there while trying to play the (mostly broken) arcade games was not great. Oh - and a short venture into the adjoining nature reserve resulted in multiple ant stings - aggressively swarmed and burned like fire - reported but told that fire ants have not made it to that area yet... Not our best trip ever!

Clean, nice roomy cabin. Staff were busy but friendly. Good sized pool, 18 hole mini-golf course. kangaroos roaming freely on the grounds.

no air con, lots of facilities closed or poorly maintained.

Location was wonderful. Issues with no air con in the unit and back screen door was off hinges as well as having a gap between the screen and glass sliding doors so could not have it open for a breeze at night, was extremely stuffy and difficult to sleep. Rock climbing wall closed for maintenance and jumping pillows closed due to vandalism. Close entry to restaurant was shut off due to covid. Kids enjoyed the pool although it could have been cleaner. Lots of potential, beautiful spot and friendly staff but poorly maintained.

You have to take the ferry every time you want to go to a shop or food outlet and the ‘retreat is located in the middle of a forest. You do not get any wifi or data reception there unless with Telstra so your only form of entertainment is TV. The pools are unclean and unhygienic and the rooms are not too big. There are many bugs and insects outside but there are kangaroos around at night. There is also no air con unless you book a cottage.

It was very peaceful in the mornings and night and there is a wonderfull beach located just 1.5km from the retreat which was about a 4 minute drive. The beach is almost private and there is not many people there. You can also bring your 4x4 to drive it on the beach and there is a car wash just nearby. Kangaroos also come out at night and there is a scenic lake nearby.

Went to the wrong unit first, it was still the same room number but a different set of units. The key to our unit worked in there as well which is a bit scary. The wrong unit was filthy and when we told staff they did all that was possible to sort it out for us. Turns out we went to the wrong set of units.

The accommodation was cheap, the place was big enough for my wife and 4 kids. Had a kitchen so could cook own meals and activities such as putt putt was great for the whole family.

Very rude staff, discriminatory to backpackers, far & inaccessible w/out vehicle (unaccommodating).

Firstly, my partner and I are backpackers, so upon calling the "resort" prior to checking in, the staff on the phone (a male) told me that the location was not accessible by bus, but recommended we used a third-party app such as Uber. He declined to let us know the barge costs, which our Uber driver did not go over for us. We were then stranded at the barge and had to walk over and to the "resort" with over 100lbs of back packer bags for each of us. Thankfully a kind stranger stopped for us and gave us a ride, they mentioned that it was ridiculous that the "resort" left us to figure it out ourselves without an ounce of consideration. Secondly, once we arrived, we promptly put our food that needs to be refrigerated into the fridge. Once we settled in and went to make food, we realized our fridge was not working and a weird smell was coming from it. We decided to attempt to contact the ON-SITE night manager guy (which the have written out on a sign in the room) who did not answer his phone (we both called him about 4 times each which was very difficult considering the place does not have adequate service). When we finally got ahold of him, he was very rude to my partner and even told us that we were starting to "piss him off" and that he does not live on site....odd way to speak to a guest...He basically assumed we should have known the fridge was going to crap out and that he would not be compensating us for the food that was bound to go spoiled. So, for the night, nothing was fixed...we even asked if we could put our food in the staff or restaurant fridge but once again he wasn't helpful. Please note it was only 10PM on a FRIDAY and all the lights were off and the main building was clearly closed...odd. Thirdly, the following morning my partner went to the front desk to voice our concerns and still pressing fridge issue, and the front desk lady was also very rude and nonchalant!

The kangaroos were abundant on the property and for the most part were very approachable and so cute to see lounging during the early morning hours. One staff member was very kind, he worked in maintenance and was very approachable and kind when it came to our concerns.
