How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Upon arrival and checking in, I was informed that we can have a late check out on the 27th of April until 2pm with a fee which I agreed but as soon as we arrive in the room, reception called and it was not possible anymore. They mentioned they will reverse the fee and wecan only ask on the last day if we can have a late check out. On the check out day- was still informed not possible, would have been better if they have given me a concrete answer to plan my day. Then, the soap dispenser in the shower was empty when we arrive. The for the pool access, it was blocked by people who are using the pool so we didnt use the pool access that was offered.
It’s convenient, clean and staff was nice enought to keep our luggage until 3pm.

Check in was busy, we were early so room wasn't ready at that point, by 2pm (the time we'd told it would be ready) there was a huge queue of people so had to wait quite a while to get the key. Most of us had also left bags in reception so that made the process a bit slower, staff needed to find the correct bags. This process could probably have been made a bit more efficient.
Great facilities, lovely, clean shower and toilet/bathroom area. Room well set up for short stays, comfortable and inviting. While parking wasn't available in the hotel (already full), we were able to leave our bags at reception and park in the nearby Entertainment Centre and were charged the same amount for parking.

We arrived early because we had a commitment on. We hoped to get it in early. We had to hang around. Finally a receptionist found a room about 1.40. I had advised Novotel that I was hoping to get in early. We also had a TV that didn't seem to be working when we got to the room. We found it had been unplugged. The reason was because when you turned it off it would come back on again.
The accommodation was close to Southbank. The hotel was modern. The room was very modern and clean.

The rooms could have been a little bigger for 4 people like ourselves
It had all the facilities you could need and the pool and gym were a fantastic bonus. The location was perfect to experience Brisbane

The room was not vacuumed, the windowsills, bed head, phone and bedside tables were very dusty.
Breakfast was fantastic. The location was perfect. The pool was lovely and view was great.

It would have been nice to have a complimentary bottle of water.
It was good location wise as we were going to a show & it was within walking distance to the venue and also to restaurants & bars. The staff were very friendly & would definitely return & also recommend to others.

Having to park across at the parking station seemed odd but turned out easy enough to handle and not really a problem.
The room was very good, bed very comfortable and location for us, for the night was excellent.

The chairs in the room were very uncomfortable. Would be nice to sit and relax to look at the city lights. Otherwise, the room was very spacious and clean. A teatowel would have been nice. The restaurant food was very good. Though we were told on Sunday lunch would be at 12, when we went down, we were advised that lunch is not served on Sundays.
It was easy walking to venues around Southbank.

I felt that the room was not vacummed daily from house keeping as I notice this while doing my morning stretches.
Room was spacious for single traveller, the facilities was clean and bright and TV was updated.
