How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Beds was not comfortable didnt provide room service for next day charged too much. Not good service

No oven and no Netflix but not a big deal. $400 night expensive even at Christmas time
Beautiful Apartment with everything i needed. Amazing view. Very comfortable bed. Close to beach and surf clubs

This is a one bedroom unit with cooking facilities but there was NO exhaust fan in the kitchen, but there were warnings about setting off the Smoke alarm and the cost of the Fire Department, which we would have to pay. If you provide cooking facilities < put in an Exhaust fan..
This was a good unit in a handy location , just across the busy road from the Beach, there were a few eateries in walking distance. The bed was comfortable , the balcony had a great view of the Ocean and the TV was a good size. The bathroom was old and had very poor lightning

The bed was very uncomfortable and noisy, mould in the ac which didn't work. Asked for room not near other people as we were on our anniversary, all other rooms had families or very noisy neighbours. And replace your rusted vents that flake apart when you touch them, advertising says couples retreat didn't meet expectations.
The location was the only highlight of the stay.

Having no lift made it very difficult for me because of my physical limitations. Having to go down the stairs an extra time because of the fire alarm was difficult. I was also concerned that the door to the garage was damaged so our cars were not safe.
I had a view of the ocean and it was close to where my meeting was being held.

The fact that when we arrived, we were given the keys to an unmade unit. So had to go back to reception, the girls in reception thought it was funny, promised me an upgrade, then handed me the keys to the unit next door to the previous one, which was exactly the same as the one we'd just walked in to. Furniture was old and smelly, but the unit was relatively clean. We stayed in this unit for 3 nights, but on the 4th night the air-conditioner died. It was 35° heat with 100% humidity that day and the young girl at reception bought us up a fan, but left us a key to another unit if we felt we couldn't stay there anymore. We moved. I went to get into my car that was parked in the car park underneath when I noticed someone had hit my car and damaged it. Conveniently the camera facing where my car was parked wasn't working. The young man at reception went through video footage, but all he kept saying when a car drove out was "I don't know who that is!....I don't know who that is", as each car left. But he did provide me with a photo of a white car leaving, but you couldn't see the licence plate. So it wasn't a very pleasant stay for us.
The pool was nice and the spa worked properly. The layout of the units is also a plus as they're quite spacious and comfortable for 2 people. The furniture in one of the units that we stayed in was relatively new, yet the other unit we were in, the furniture needed to be updated and the unit itself needs a paint and refreshing. Just about all units, excepting the ground floor have balcony ocean views.
