Wi-Fi didn’t work during my 3 days stay (other permanent residents told me neither did it the week before;(, no plugs in the upper beds … Cool, relaxed atmosphere, but rather people living there (and working in 🇦🇺) than travelers…

Cleanliness. People sleeping on the couches. Loud music to the point of zero chance sleeping if you didn't wanna join French techno. Beer bottles and fags everywhere. Not very clean. (jeez sorry I sound like a Karen), lots of long termers Beds have a massive dip in them which is super uncomfy. No windows for fresh air in room Dorms only get 'cleaned' once a week which consisted of vacuuming the floor between the beds and leaving again. Often felt like an inconvenience to staff in reception, they always seemed too busy it was a bit chaotic in there. Had hot water and power problems whilst I was there, think it's a super old building, kinda feels like it's falling apart lol, eg. the ceiling is coming down in the girls showers..! Hope you guys manage to sort it out :)

Seperate girls dorms, kitchen, bathrooms, and lounge. It's such a nice touch despite not being able to use the lounge cos it was being painted. Was nice to chill alone though. Good location for freo and the train. Chilled atmosphere. Good laundry facilities. Good TV areas. Free parking 12 min walk. Kept extending cos I did like it, and was only hostel available in the whole of perth

Staff were particularily friendly , and accommodating to ones needs, far beyond the call of duty. Cool vintage place, good facilities, excellent location. Highly recommended.😍😍🤩👌

I really enjoyed my time at OFS! The staff is super nice, loved the girls’ dorm and having a private space where to chill. there are many areas where to chill and meet people.

Shout out to Kiki, Tess and Dan for their amazing service and kindness. Its been my home for over 2 months and made great friends and had a fun time! The common areas are the best thing of the hostel, Kitchen available at all times is a big plus.

It was a bit of a loud party place. Most guests seemed to enjoy this aspect, and to be fair it was really just that Saturday that seemed excessive.

Location is great, staff were friendly and helpful, and the range of entertainment in the hostel was excellent - Netflix, table tennis, foosball, DJ on the Saturday night, nice courtyard seating, small but functional gym etc.

Very noisy hostel, bathrooms were very dirty on the ground floor.

Rooms pretty spaceful compared to other hostels, staff very gentle and helpful, big common area with a lot of things to do. Possibility to buy beer and wine, with special offers as well.

It’s an old building and the rooms get extremely hot. Even with fans on, hot air is just being moved around. On 35 degree plus days the rooms can feel like prison cells. Where I was staying next to the yard, it was also extremely noisy. With people outside my room all day and we’ll into the early hours of the morning. Whilst I was there someone decided to bring out an amp and electric guitar and start jamming / learning to play guitar. Someone else, who sounded like an extremely shit version Tom Waits decided to join in and singalong. After not sleeping for a few nights due to the noise and the heat, this was basically torture for me. Had earplugs in, noise cancelling headphones up full volume, but I could still hear them. The atmosphere in the hostel also meant that I didn’t really feel safe going outside and telling them to shut up. There were a few characters that seemed a bit sketchy hanging around, the hostel was also packed to the rafters, and someone I spoke to had found a human poo in the yard after the night before. There was also very little space anywhere in any of the fridges or kitchens due to the amount of people staying, so I couldn’t cook whilst I was there. I’d originally booked for 5 nights, but given all of the above, I checked out after 2 and found myself an Airbnb where I could get some proper sleep.

Nice location in Freemantle and the backyard area is actually a very nice space. The female only kitchen, bathroom and chill out area is a nice touch there and it felt like a bit of a safe haven inside the rest of the hostel.

OFS is full of character! It is a place you can have crazy parties but it is also a place where you can have wholesome dinners with friends and watch movies. Over the past 2 years the people I have met there have become a big family.
