Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaFrom the moment we arrived we felt like we had stepped into a secret piece of paradise ✨️ The room and bathroom were well designed and presented beautifully. Relaxing on the verandah with the wildlife and lush tropical gardens made for a perfect escape. The breakfast provided each morning was a scrumptious way to start the day!! Will definitely recommend and will surely be back!!

United Kingdomthe room and decking are in deep shade so there is not much sunlight. I think this is so you get to see the wildlife close up. also the chap at the property uses the afternoons to hose and wash the decking below which can be a bit of a nuisance if you are there. we asked for this to stop and it did.
immaculate presentation. beautifully furnished, attention to detail. very comfy bed, excellent shower, gorgeous outdoor decking looking directly at rainforest. cockatoos looking straight back at you! lovely fridge style breakfasts too. the dawn chorus of birds is magnificent, but noisy! also, wallabies come and go. delightful! the property is quite a way out of Nelly bay but the excellent bus service runs right by a minute away. don't hire a car, they can't go anywhere that the bus can't. day ticket on bus $6. car hire for a day $70 minimum.

AustraliaNothing - well done!
This is the perfect little oasis from which to explore Magnetic Island and retreat back to your own little slice of rainforest. The attention to detail in every aspect of this accommodation, from lovely natural scented toiletries to local themed artworks and vintage styling - it was a perfect escape. I also can't leave a review without mentioning the extravagant full breakfast that the host provided each morning, complete with delicious tropical fruits.

New ZealandStunning property set in the forest. You feel that you are tucked away in the rainforest but the town is so close by so it is the perfect location. Relaxing on the balcony listening to all of the wildlife is a very special experience. The host is so lovely and goes out of her way to make your stay very comfortable. Highly recommended.

AustraliaThe 4 poster bed although ornate was a little soft and did rattle a bit more than I would like.
Breakfast was excellent with great fresh fruit platter, cereals and toast. The location is beautiful with abundant wildlife right out the backdoor. A true Queensland rainforest experience. The place is beautifully furnished with antique furniture.

ChileIt is a lovely and cosy place. Every morning, we woke up with cockatoos in front of our windows, flying around from tree to tree. The bus stop is just 3 minutes away, and we really appreciated that the house wasn't too close to the main areas, as the place was peaceful and we enjoyed the nature sound. We recommend this place 100%

AustraliaOskar’s was a real surprise. The accommodation was in the middle of a private rainforest which attracted a variety of birds included white cockatoos, lorikeets, spangled drongos, paddy melons just to name a few.. the plants and trees were magnificent and very well looked after. The decor in the accommodation was beautiful and the bed and chairs etc all very comfortable. The breakfast was enough. Debbie was a great host.

AustraliaBeautiful accommodation with lots of gorgeous and unique vintage furniture, and lots of local birdlife and wildlife to add to that tropical retreat atmosphere (we loved having breakfast on the beautiful private balcony in view of our new bird friends). Lovely unobtrusive host who was quick to respond if needed, showed us around the room and told us a bit about the island on arrival - and also offered additional heating options when there were unusually cold evenings for the region (being from the Adelaide Hills we barely noticed and found the existing extra blankets sufficient!). Generous breakfast that keeps you going all day - perfect for those big days out hiking and snorkelling! It was difficult to leave and we'd love to stay again another time!

AustraliaIt was a delight to stay at Oskars. The location was easy to get to either by bus, walking or scooter. Debbie made us feel very welcomed and gave us lots of local information. Breakfast was lovely and fresh each morning. It was a great way to start the day amongst the trees with the local birds and the little rock wallabies joining us. We would go back again and recommend Oskars for a lovely quiet place to stay and relax.
