Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

This is the perfect spot for relaxing days near the beach, away from the typical Whitsundays tourism hustle. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay.

United KingdomThe resort has a turnaround of staff, some of which are new and need to go and check with other senior members about drinks or food queries. Unless you state otherwise, the staff will automatically put any purchases onto your room. The Romantic seafood package in the e-mail you are sent prior to arrival has it advertised at $300. You can do any romantic package for a $30 setup fee, and then you add the cost of your food on top of that. However, to buy the seafood package separately is $250 plus the €30 set up fee is works out at €280 saving you $20. I didn't really get the setup fee as it's exactly the same table and set up as the restaurant, only difference is that they put a vase with fake flowers, candles and shells on the table. You also need to pre-order your romantic package food a few days before you want to do it even though it's the same food that comes from the same kitchen. The table itself isn't private, it's right next to the Sunset Bar in close proximity to others enjoying a cocktail or 6.
This place is such a relaxing place to visit, the beach and the surroundings are absolutely stunning. There are a few walks you can do around the island, happy beach (where the old hotel used to be) is about a 1.5k walk. It is worth the walk. We were welcomed by a member of staff as we got off the boat taxi with a complimentary soft drink. Our luggage was taken to our room for us. The rooms themselves are a little dated, but with the gorgeous scenery and views around, you don't spend much time in the room. The room was well presented and very clean. The hammock on the balcony was absolutely awesome. Even though it's not a self-catering resort, there is a fridge, microwave, cutlery, etc. within the room, you could take cereal, yougurt, eggs, etc, if you're a late riser. The food at the resort was really good. Some of the vegan dishes were absolutely delicious, I'm not a vegan, but I fancied something different, and I can recommend the Risotto. If you have a specific diet, I would contact the resort and ask them to send you the most upto date menu. The one we were sent was an old one with some of the things we picked before going no longer on the menu. The pool has towels and suncream available. The pool itself was a decent size. The water is salt water. There is a gym that has everything you need for a workout. There is a mini shop within the venue where you can get water, fizzy drinks, crisps, ice cream, sun cream, etc. The Kayak's, paddle boards, snorkelling equipment, and stinger suits are all provided by the resort. If you fancy fishing, you can hire a rod for €15 The staff were extremely helpful and wecloming. If you enjoy wildlife, you will see plenty here. There are a couple of mini roos, lizards, and parots that freely rome the grounds.

IrelandPalm Bay Resort is an amazing place to spend a few nights relaxing. This small resort has a lovely pool area, plenty of activities such as snorkeling, SUP, kayaking, walks, tennis etc. We really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere on the island and how quiet and peaceful it was. Our room (beachfront villa) was perfect for us. With lovely views of the beach from our deck and plenty of privacy and space. It was simple, nothing fancy. Palm Bay isn't top class luxury but it's still lovely. The grounds are well maintained, and the restaurant has a nice menu. As long as you're not expecting a big 5 star resort, you will appreciate how nice this place is.

AustraliaNothing really, bathrooms were a little tired but still very clean. I think that you should need to sign every time you charge to your room though as we had an incorrect charge assigned to our room. It was fixed very promptly though as it was obvious it wasn’t ours.

United KingdomRoom was a bit dusty and sandy at arrival. Staff came to clean after being solicited twice but did not solve the problem entirely. I understand on an island rooms get sandy eventually, but there being no public shower/fountain/water hose to use to rinse before walking into your room, paired with the fact rooms would only get cleaned every 3 days made it really hard to keep the sand out. It’s a minor thing but I would strongly recommend the resort to install a few salt water fountains for guests to clean up before entering their room, the restaurant or the pool area
Location and food, both 10/10. The island is incredible, a true hidden gem that is nevertheless easy to reach, which allow guests to book day tours and further explore the Whitsundays area. Food was amazing. Had all three meals there multiple days, impeccable quality, massive portions and great value for money (had a huge seafood platter one day, paid it a third of what I would have in Europe)

AustraliaThe air con in room in 18 needs replacing. it could only be turned on a full fan speed which meant we had to keep turning it off and on due to the noise. For the money we paid for the room this was sub standard
Love the location and the serenity. This is what we were looking for and I had been to the island 40 plus years ago. It is still as beautiful.

FranceMore than a resort, it is a retreat on a small and peaceful island. The swimming pool is great, the food delicious and all the staff was helpful, smiling and just lovely. There are quite a few animals roaming free : wallabies (so cute!) and several kind a birds (including lots of cockatoos). The food was great! We do not regret having to take the shuttle bus and the boat to get there. All kind of activities are available on site (snorkeling, kayak, stand up paddle, tennis, walking trails, etc) or can be organized through reception (the scenic flight over the Great Barrier Reef is a must).

AustraliaRestaurant and bar closes early (8:30-9pm) we got there on Friday and there were chainsaws trimming trees all afternoon and the maintenance person was pressure cleaning sun lounges by the pool on Saturday morning at 9am while we were eating breakfast and guest were wanting to swim. This is not usually seen. Especially in on weekend.
Location, staff, food, bed. Stunning spot- granted Food- absolutely delicious! Value for money and very generous serving sizes! Bed so comfy! The staff though- Special mention to the staff in the bar and restaurant- Tommy, Jamie and Juan! Legends. Friendly faces to chat to all day.
