Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaBed in spare room has an uncomfortable futon style mattress. Linen was still in dryer and extra linen in cupboard was haphazardly folded and extremely crushed. Hated the mats over carpet. One of our group tripped and fell into the lounge on entry. Totally unexpected the difference in floor level. Very dangerous as most of us tripped on mats at one stage or another during our stay.

I was very impressed with the communication at all levels. The detail of the descriptions for collecting the key were incredibly clear and helpful, as was the follow-up communication after we checked out.

No bedside tables No reading lights The coffee cups were obviously brought from a garage sale (they could have gone to BigW and bought a few $2 cups which would have been much more pleasant to drink out of).
Very spacious. Clean and comfortable and mostly well-maintained. Very good location - close to the airport and train station and not far from the city.

AustraliaMy only suggestion to improve a stay would be to have a pantry staple/supply of uht milk and cooking oil.
The premises was very clean, had provisions to cook, with some toiletries and cleaning items provided. Host provided very detailed instructions on entering and exiting the premises. Will definitely use this accomodation in future when coming to Sydney.

Safety concerns for children getting onto the balcony so would be handy having a lock on the top of the door kids can't reach. Could tell one mattress was only made of foam sheetings

AustraliaWhen we arrived at 3.30 pm washing machine was still going . Dishes were wet and there was a very strong cooking smell coming out of kitchen like someone had just finished cooking. So bad my granddaughter was dry retching . Felt like whoever’s apartment it was had just moved out for the night . The porta cot wasn’t made up and we could not find any sheets or blankets for it . Apartment was good but smell and other little things let it down . Range hood was not clean either

AustraliaRoom smelt like smoke, and food. someone had put the dishes in the dishwasher and left them in there. The dryer was going with our towels in there. I had sent an email the day before letting them know what time, I would check in and out. Was told the keys would be in a certain location and they weren't. I had to call to find out where the room keys were. Was told to wait 5-10 minutes for someone to arrive and hand over the room keys. Then Was told there will be a Aircon guy coming over on Saturday between 5-6pm to clean the aircons, and we would recive a discount because of this. It's a shame the pictures looked good, but far from new.
