Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNothing really. It could be even better if there is USB charging port in the room.
Very Spacious Room! Have everything in need and theres a little balcony outside of the living area for the garden room, which is just amazing! the loft room is also very very nice! It is recommended if you are booking more than one room you should book the same room style as there is a door in between which can be opened and turn it into a multi-bedroom apartment. The gardens are also very nice and well maintained but because of the rain and tight scheduled I didnt have the chance to discover them in detail..

AustraliaThe only recommendation I could offer is a light over the tea and coffee making station plus a sign requesting to boil the kettle in the bathroom as the steam that comes off the kettle when boiled caused a lot of steam which will damage the paint over time. I also would have liked a comfy blanket and extra pillows for the bed stored in the wardrobe. However, I am sure if I asked for them they would have happily provided them.
From the moment we checked in. Everything was perfect. They even thought of a list of all the local places to get food from. The fireplace was a lovely touch. The decor was beautiful. Felt like home. The breakfast was delicious and lots of variety.

AustraliaThe staff when we checked in were very rude and unwelcoming with not even one smile. We felt like we had interrupted their conversation which involved lunch and it wasn't nice. We were told we were too early and to come back later although l had asked for an early check in when booking. We did not have a working fire place as shown in the advertising and the toilet intermittently did not flush. The rooms are noisy as we had upstairs guests keeping us awake at night walking around. The gardens, are pretty but paving etc was quite dirty and walking out in my wedding gown was difficult with leaves and ant nests everywhere.
We loved the sitting room and the gardens. Our room was quite nice, not what it showed on the advertising but was still nice.We were staying close to Breenhold Gardens for our renewal of wedding vows for our 50th and were very excited to arrive.

South AfricaBreakfast: Can only be described as mediocre considering the rate charged. Dinner: Non existent despite them advertising a "Dining" package. When I queried dinner arrangements, I was told that I could have dinner at a "sister" establishment. There is a nice, but small Thai restaurant and the local fish and chips shop offered excellent choice of take away seafood.
Room: Large with comfortable bed and well designed lounge area.

AustraliaNot value for money. Should have gone for a boutique place or so, which I had seen a few others and had plenty more amenities and would have costed us less.
Just very normal accommodation. Nothing too special about it. Great as a wedding venue and has facilities for that. Room is very basic in terms of amenities. Bed and a bathroom and that's pretty much it. We did a walk around the property too and apart from a cute pond, nothing much to do.

AustraliaThree sleeps, withe the same breakfast each day. This was disappointing. Dry rubbery scrambled eggs. Broccoli, which was an odd offer for breakfast. Good coffee. Also, surprised and disappointed that there was no cafe / restaurant facilities at this venue.
Booked an attic room, as this was larger. Liked the spaciousness and the view. Thought I had arranged for a bath, but room had shower only. Loved the fire. Comfy beds and lovely product in bathroom.

AustraliaFor the price of the stay in room facilities could have been better, carpers where dirty , it’s the small things , bathroom is freezing, some way to heat it would have been nice , we had ants in our bathroom and the tea and coffee station could have had better cups and some snacks , as I said it’s the small things , in saying that we did enjoy our stay 😊

Australiafirst night was great, but second night there is a family moved in upstairs. The noisy of walking running was terrible. Talked to the reception, the noise reduced. there were plenty rooms available during the weekdays, should not place a family with kids upstairs then.

AustraliaWhen we arrived in the room there was no toilet paper and the bathroom had a couple hairs left in it from the previous person. On our second day after the room was cleaned out, the bed was not really made properly and they took our towels but didn't replace them, so we had to call for more. I did feel the previous owners demonstrated excellence more consistently with their standards, service and what they offered. The rooms would also be great with netflix or some kind of entertainment system on the tv's. For the amount we paid I was not as satisfied this time around with the overall stay.
Parklands always has a beautiful, cottage/home feel to it. This was our second stay. The staff were friendly and the rooms were comfortable. Breakfast was quick and nice. We always come home feeling relaxed and enjoy the local cafes and restaurants too. The fireplace was lovely also, as the weather was quite cool.

AustraliaDuring our stay there was a wedding at the venue and the guests were really noisy. Most of them were staying at the cottages and we could hear loud footsteps from the floor above all night which made it impossible to get a decent night's sleep. Carpets were unclean and had stains. Worst bit was dead cockroaches in our bedroom and more little cockroaches appearing from the shower. The staff came and had to vacuum the entire place again. A microwave and kitchen sink in the room would have been good. Given there is no lunch/dinner restaurant at the hotel, you would expect a microwave at least to heat up your food brought from outside. Unfortunately this is not the case, and and the only option is to use the common kitchen area at the reception to heat up any food. Based on what we experienced, the stay was definitely overpriced for what it could offer. Not worth the $1,200 we paid for a two night stay.
Location was good being really close to Blackheath town centre and a brisk 10 mins drive to Katoomba which has more options for food and boutique stores. In the room itself we did like the fireplace which heated up the room quite quick.
