The breakfast cooked by Wayne was excellent, a beautiful tasty omelette each. Our room was very comfortable and cosy with a beautiful view of the sea.

Nothing we didn’t like

Welcoming home away from home atmosphere made us and our dog feel like part of the family. Wayne is the most warm and friendly host who goes above and beyond providing extremely comfortable accommodation and delicious cooked breakfasts.

This homestay was typical of the old fashioned Bed and Breakfast, good value for money and good hospitality. I had my own comfortable and clean bedroom, toilet and bathroom and shared the kitchen and lounge with host. At no time did I feel awkward sharing the hosts home. I felt like I was staying with old friends. Even the dogs treated you as part of the family. Views over Bass Strait were awe inspiring. Not only did Wayne cook a delicious breakfast, he cooked a tasty vegetarian pasta dish and even sent me home with leftovers. Thank you Wayne and Dru for being kind and gracious hosts. I look forward to returning.

Fluffy scrambled eggs and perfectly cooked mushrooms and tomatoes served by our warm, friendly host Wayne, overlooking Penguin and the vast expanse of the Bass Strait were the perfect beginning to the day

Absolutely nothing!

This accommodation was in the style of a home stay with our own bedroom and private toilet & bathroom. The kitchen and lounge room were freely shared by the owner who encouraged us to do so. We were made to feel like personal guests in the home. Wayne (owner) was warm, generous and friendly and respected any privacy we might have needed. He shared his knowledge of the local area assisting in our activity planning. The two resident dogs were friendly and loveable and added to the experience. The view from the property balcony was panoramic over the town of Penguin and the water. A fully cooked breakfast was lovingly prepared each day by Wayne. This is not a typical motel type of accommodation instead we were made to feel very welcome and comfortable in this home. In terms of cost, the value for money was beyond exceptional. If ever we return to Penguin, staying here would be a must. Thanks Wayne for a most enjoyable and valued time spent in your home. We left feeling like friends.

Excellent breakfast. We were asked what time we would like breakfast and we received it on time. The three if us, 2 humans and a dog were made to feel so welcome, given a lovely cup of tea on our arrival.

Didn't like having to leave!! Wish we could've stayed longer!

Friendly, homely, relaxed, comfortable and well appointed accommodation. Felt very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Wayne and Dru went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed every moment of our stay. Breakfast was sumptuous and delicious! Wayne and Dru were very knowledgeable and keen to make sure we got the best out of our visit to the area. Can't wait to return.

Nothing really. Happy with everything.

We had a super nice time staying in Penguin for 3 nights at the homestay. As the name suggests, we shared Wayne's home, having our own room with a huge window and a great view of the ocean and smart TV, also having our private bathroom with shower and spa bath. Everything is really comfy and clean. And Wayne is an amazing host, opening his house to us, giving us great tips on what to do in the area, cooking us a fresh breakfast every morning. There are some friendly dogs in the house which added very much to the "home" feel. Overall a great place to stay and to use as base for some exploring of North-Western Tassie or Cradle Mountain (1.5 hours drive away).

Wayne is an absolute pleasure to have as a host. Such a lovely home and personality. Really looking after the guests and making an awesome breakfast for me. Nice chats together. The dogs are super cool too and just everything was perfect. Wouldn't have traded it for anything else.

We knew it was a pet-friendly venue and we were comfortable with the owner's two large dogs being around us most of the time. However, having them running and nuzzling around at breakfast was not appropriate. Apart from that we would recommend this homestay.

Great location for views, beautiful garden and surrounds. However access was a little difficult. Very friendly host and the room and breakfast were very good. Bed was comfortable.
