Some things are a bit dated, the shower temp was pretty bad (scolding hot or freezing cold) but nothing that would ruin a trip

Amazing location on Emu Bay, with views of the Jetty and easy access to the beach; lots of local wildlife visits (Wallaby, echidna- loads of birds) place was clean enough and beds comfy

Very small bathroom , and the water was really hard to close it tended to drip all the time. Would have loved an explanation about how to see the penguins!! No wifi and almost no signal so you'd better have taken all the information you need before.

Such a nice vue! And another terrasse in the back for privacy. Hudge garden. Nice big common area.

It’s a beach shack not a posh house

A few cobwebs around shower ceiling and light that I removed using the dust brush on the fridge. A bit of dust in wardrobes and drawers. Bed linen had what looks light peroxide stains on the sheets. Clean but a tad off putting. Minor though. It is not a new building but if you accept it for what it is then you will find yourself having an enjoyable stay.

Perfect location. House a bit like walking down memory lane. A lot of old stuff but repainted and modern wall prints made for a comfortable stay. Very spacious and that was great. Nature at our doorstep. Saw goanna's, wallabies, kangaroos, echidna, possums, hawk, crows and other birds. Site has so much potential I wish I was younger to embrace it. The house was full of everything one could need. There were DVD'S, CD PLAYER, GAMES , loads of kitchen utensils, vacuum cleaners. list is endless. Would certainly stay there again if the opportunity arose. Made a very relaxing stay. Can cover the Island from there as a home base. Second fridge a bonus.

Bathroom too small

Quiet location close to beach. Good space inside, large kitchen and nice verandah

Bathroom is rather small, limited storage areas in bedrooms.

Lovely seaside cottage perfect for 2 couples. Lots of kitchen utensils and 2 huge fridges. Great ambience from verandah overlooking bay. A few small issues we had on arrival were quickly resolved by manager. Good alternative to Kingscote and accessible to other parts of island. Lots of wildlife nearby.

Cobwebs, dirty windows, kitchen bench near the taps needs attention (very worn and tired), hot water ran out during showering a couple of times.

Terrific location and the deck was amazing to spend time on. Very comfy bed and accomodation was generally clean.

great location, close to the water. Clean tidy property. Had positive interactions with the local wildlife with resident koala in the tree beside the property, woke up kangaroos around the back of the house and briefly saw fairy penguins along the beach less than a minute from the rental

Amazing location and felt like home. We arrived after dark and instantly fell in love with the location and the fairy lights hanging in the front of the house. Inside was very warm and inviting and we felt like we were home.

Front door lock difficult. No battery in clock. No battery in torch. No fly spray, only aerogard. Didn’t like we had to replace any tea coffee we used. Had to empty vacuum to use it. Rubbish under bed in in bedroom 2. Too much spray and wipe used on table and kitchen bench, was very sticky. Tour maps stuck to the table. Air con vent needs cleaning, as well as exhaust fan in bathroom.

The place wasn't especially clean - there was a lot of cobwebs and dead insects/spiders in particular the small bathroom area (which looked like had been there for a long while). Some kitchen utensils weren't that clean, the kitchen knifes were completely blunt and some cooking basics you'd expect (like olive oil etc) wasn't provided. We also didn't appreciate the cleaner arriving 30-45 mins early before check-out and then sitting in her car with her window down, staring at us while we were finishing our packing. That made us feel quite uncomfortable and unfortunately left us with a bad impression of what was otherwise a pleasant stay.

The location was great - a stone's throw away from Emu Bay Beach. And Kangaroo Island itself was beautiful - a must for anyone who hasn't been!
