The rooms got really hot considering it’s not even summer fully yet, no fans provided. The windows even when closed let in so much noise from the street so sleep wasn’t great, especially with the one tiny pillow provided. Communal areas weren’t always the cleanest but this was due to guests rather than staff. The bathrooms are a bit sparse. Overall an ok stay but definitely more of a long term stay vibe

There were lots of people smoking weed in the outdoor area. Big signs saying drug use of any kind is banned but it's quite acceptable to smoke joints. Even the staff were doing so. It didn't bother me but I imagine it may bother some 😃

When they vacuum the room, it should be well done, mainly if you put all your stuff on your bed to make their job easier, because it is just once per week, however it is very superficial.

The staff is very friendly mainly the receptionists, they are allways willing to help you. The location was perfect for me, having a parking with no overprice is great and the room was good and warm. Good enviroment and nice people around.

I stayed Friday night and it was very noisy in part due to a pub nearby with live music.

Perfect location, it was a fun place & more fun than where I stayed in Perth. People cleaned up more than in Perth too.

The whole building and facilities were a bit ramshackled and disrepaired but the management and staff are working hard to make the hostel a comfy place. Mattresses were not great, kitchen was a bit dirty and really small but overall you kind of get comfy still.

Not my vibe at all - party hostel with heavy drinking, smoking (tobacco and others) and drugs. Super loud music until 1 or 2 am each night. Understand it was the weekend, but I was in a room outside right above the party and it was incredibly difficult to get any sleep. Party goers were however very respectful for the most part and when I asked a group to take their weed away from the verandah at my door they did so with apologies. If you're looking for somewhere chill or to get any sleep, I wouldn't recommend this place, but someone looking for a party would probably be quite happy here. The rooms weren't the cleanest (stuff everywhere, rubbish under all the beds and not vacuumed etc.) I did see signs advising of vacuuuming on some doors so perhaps I just came on the days cleaning hadn't been done... Some more bathrooms would be helpful, as there was often quite a wait for bathrooms at all hours of the day, not sure if this is less of a problem during the week vs weekends though...?

Location cannot be faulted. Right in the centre of everything and perfect for the market and restaurants. Staff were really friendly with all questions I had, as were most of the other guests I spoke to. Bathrooms (when you could get to one) were pretty clean, with decent water pressure and temp. Was lucky enough to score a carpark which is the main reason I stayed on after the first night of being here. Decent value for money considering the prime location.

the whole place stunk of cigarette smoke. the bathrooms were filthy and there was no toilet paper through the night. may as well have not had a pillow they were that flat. had the worst nights sleep as it was so loud downstairs.

The room was filthy with other travelers clothes/items everywhere and the room smelt absolutely terrible. Definitely didn't meet the rating that's on booking.com. We didn't end up sleeping at the Pirates, we didn't feel comfortable at all as some of the people there were a little suspect, so we handed the keys back at 11.30pm and went elsewhere.

It's a small hostel which makes it feel just like a big shared house. Really enjoyed the activities organized by the staff/ owner every week, which was also a great way to meet new people. Started to feel like home very quickly. Will definitely come back :)

A homey hostel in the heart of town with good people, chill vibes and a lush little garden to hang out in. The beach is only a couple of blocks away. Bonus: the tasty ice-cream place next door ;)
