The room itself is as per the photos advertised but in person felt a bit wacky.

The location just by the train station is ideal and local eating and drinking options are many and varied. Our check-in/check-out was seamless and our upgrade was greatly appreciated. The room met our expectations and provided everything we needed for a comfortable overnight stay.

The lift was having technical difficulties that got a little frustrating but it was only a minor inconvenience and the lift would work after pressing the button a couple of times.

The location was fantastic and the staff were friendly. I thought the room was a very generous size and the room was great value for money.

There was no remote for the tv which was on the small side. The lift was strange with confusing level numbers. Some small cockroaches., otherwise clean. Strangest shower I have ever seen with three shower heads, made me wonder what the room had been used for. Modern amenities.

The bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows. Was upgraded to a larger room.

The room was very basic. It was a big room, so plenty of room to have a small table and chairs, or even a small study desk and single chair. There was only a single overhead light source, and no freestanding or bedside lamps, so there was no ability to adjust the lighting - it was either all on or all off, plus the only light switch was by the entry door, so I had to cross the room in the dark at bedtime. I know it's a hotel for those on a budget, and the important things were well handled (bed, clean....) but nevertheless the room could be given a few more features for minimal investment. Without them, the room felt pointlessly big with most of the space serving no purpose. My biggest gripe would be the shared bathroom. It was small but to be fair it did have good stocks of toilet roll, soaps and bottled lotions, however the floors were wet most of the time - caused by other guests showering and then not bothering to dry the floor - which was a bit irritating. More of a guest problem than a hotel problem, I suppose but it did impact the enjoyment of my stay.

Our ac wasn’t turned on but every 15 minutes it would make a really loud noise and we kept waking up in the night because of it.

Our room got upgraded to a private ensuite and it was a very nice room we enjoyed almost everything about it.

Not sure if the fluffy blanket was washed after every visit or if it was intended just to mainly be decorative? I got the feeling it hadn’t been freshly washed since the room was last used so I didn’t want to sleep under it which meant I only got to sleep under a sheet. More robust/ practical bedding would be great but overall place was very clean and exceptional value for money.

Location was great, room was spacious with nice big double shower. Air-con was good, diffuser used can be a little strong. Bed was clean and comfortable. Good for couples, group of friends. Baggage storage was convenient.
