Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

AustraliaIt’s described as a granny annex. It’s a shed on the side of a garage. Awful, this must be what it’s like to live under the CCP. No view out of the window, just a wall with plastic grass. Can’t believe they are allowed to get away with such below anybody’s acceptable standards.

AustraliaThe property is false advertising. It is most definitely is not a PRIVATE Granny Flat. The small space is shared with up to 5 other people. The entire property is much more like a Boarding House. The grounds were littered with rubbish and clothing and the shared bathroom was filthy. The communication between myself and Ji was automated. Ji did not actually read my communication I sent until after I requested a refund, After I had sent my initital complaint made the morning after I was meant to check in (I did not stay) I received an auto reply asking me if I was enjoying my stay, then another reminding me of the checkout time. I advise you to be extremely wary of this property and any others managed by this group. I did not receive the refund I requested.

AustraliaThis is false advertising. This is NOT a granny flat. It is a garage converted into four small rooms. The shared bathroom is in the main house which means you are open to the elements when walking there along the dangerous path and the ugly unkept yard. The bathrooms and kitchen are dirty and have not been cleaned my whole visit (5nights). The large bins outside have not been put out for collection so are overflowing. Filthy and smelly! It is hot in my room with only a small window and the fan is so dusty I couldn’t use it. There is no mirror but I did have a fridge in my room. On arrival the room & linen was clean. I think with the shortage of accommodation in this area these four rooms should be used as long term accommodation or student accommodation and not be falsely advertised as a nice place to stay in Sydney. I have traveled the world and stayed in better cleaner hostels. Again I emphasise this looks and feels like a boarding house and I would not recommend it to anyone for a short term stay especially in hot stormy weather.
