How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Hotel Internet was unusable, totally unusable to a solo person trying to work. Firstly it’s only available as an unsecured access, no password needed, in this day & age of scams we all should be more responsible. Secondly the bandwidth available was crap, and even using a phone as a hotspot there is only 2 bars available (Telstra network). It’s 2024 and this establishment is clearly targeting the corporate market, wake up & give customers what they need to function in this day & age… just build it into the room price, the customers just want the basics to work…

The apartment was like an oven when we arrived as the windows faced the sun all day and the blinds had been left open. The one wall mounted air conditioner could not cope and as it faced away from the bedrooms, they remained hot. We did open the window in the bedroom but were awoken through the night by a noisy child in the next apartment who was allowed onto the adjacent balcony to run around and was yelling. Not the fault of the accommodation but a result of an under capacity air con.

As I mentioned above , I found a couple of staff needed to be more friendly and smile. The house keeping girl who cleaned our room was fantastic more than helpful.
Great location ,room was fantastic. Majority of staff were pleasant a smile goes along way.

Our room was clean but the bed was too soft and the room was stuffy a ceiling fan and flyscreen so you could have the windows open for air flow would be good. Not enough tea bags and there were three of us in the room and no bedding for the pull out couch this was discovered after 11pm and could not be fixed unfortunately...
The location was excellent and we loved the spas sundeck area

If anything I would have liked a bedroom that was a little bigger and more time to stay there
Great location and easy to get to from Geelong, we came for a wedding and the reception was at the Hobsons Bay Yacht Club, so it was perfect and we could walk there in a couple of minutes Also property is so central and in the middle of a lot of my favourite shops

Would have appreciated the details of how to gain access to hte premises before hand as we arrived to find the front door locked and no one at reception. But once we found the number to call and understood the system, it went smoothly.
Washing machine and driers worked well.

We did find a few little things/crumbies under furniture, tennis ball under the couch and a Dorito under one single bed. But otherwise everything appeared very clean.
The location was perfect. Lots of local restaurants/takeaways as well as other stores, with a Coles around the corner and chemist nearby too. The apartment was just right for our needs as a family of 4 with 2 young boys, 4 & 9 years old. The parking underneath (at a cost) was worth it for security and convenience.

We found a cleaning cloth on the tv stand and the rooms very dusty.
