Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe room was clean and felt nice however there were some food pieces on the carpets left from previous guests and it felt like it could do with a deeper clean. Some marks on the carpet and a burn mark on the bath (which of course were not the hotels doing). The dishwasher wouldn’t work, although we didn’t stay long enough to contact the hotel to request what was going on. It was all pretty minor-for a newly refurbished room there was grout missing in the tiling bath, and the plugs were on a crooked angle. I think with these minor fixes you couldn’t really pick on much else!
Upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely concierge who later helped us with finding a beautiful breakfast. The staff were all friendly, and the entry is beautiful. We were upgraded to a refurbished room/2 bed apartment which had the most lovely view of both the Sydney harbour bridge and the opera house! The hotel was well appointed within the city, tastefully decorated and was even ready for us early which means we could drop our bags straight off to our rooms before starting out for the day. Must say… the pool and spa were lovely too!

I was upgraded upon arrival from a 1 bedroom apartment to a 2 bedroom apartment. The rooms were large, the amenities great and the kitchen well stocked. We loved the happy hour. Perfect location for the hotel and the view from the room was amazing.

CanadaThe climb up the hill was a challenge, but fortunately, only 2 blocks long. Great for a youngster, less so for a senior. The view from the 8th floor was simply other high-rise buildings, but then we didn't stay in much.
Access to Circular Quay, trains, trams, and ferries was awesome. An ample kitchen was available, as was laundry equipment. Bathroom and shower were ample. Bed was large and very comfortable. When we had issues, e.g., the TV, the staff quickly resolved them. The cleaning staff did an excellent job. The staff for check-in and check-out were pleasant and helpful.

This was our first trip to Sydney - I was hoping for accommodation with a view of the iconic harbour and came across The Sebel Quay West Suites on booking.com - harbour view apartment looked amazing and hoped it lived up to exoectations. . We arrived in the harbour on a cruise ship and scoured the city landscape from the deck hoping to spot our chosen hotel but failing to match the picture on booking .com with our view we remained skeptics that our harbour view would live up to expectations - how wrong we were - our room was on the 22nd floor- as we entered the apartment I shed a tear - the view was totally spectacular - the apartment immaculate , exceptionally well appointed and totally exceeded our expectations - the location in The Rocks area from our point of view was perfect - a few minutes walk from Circular Quay where we could jump on the Ferry’s, a stones throw from the Opera House and surrounded by vibrant bars and restaurants . The staff at the Sebel are fantastic - so friendly and helpful - we had a truly memorable stay - our ambition is a return trip to Sydney as we loved it so much and we would choose to stay at the Sebel Quay West Suites with Harbour View every time - totally exceeded our expectations.

Place is Centrally located in "THE ROCKS" room has picture perfect vies of Opera House and Harbor bridge. We could not wait to get back to the room to enjoy a snack and beverage from 2 balconies. Place had 2 rooms living room/ fridge/ microwave and bedroom both had balconies with stunning harbor views. Ther is a washer and Dryer room which made it convenient for our stay. it is more of apartment than a hotel room. Even though they VERY UN-TACTFULLY have mini bar and snacks to tempt you in effort to make a few extra bucks on your stay(they say for "guest convenience", I say "SAMELESS/SELF SERVING" money grab). They have some attendant comes in your room twice a day to check on smacks and beverages you take. There is a convenient store with all snacks and beverages and more 100 feet from hotel if you need it. 5 min walk to circular key or 10 min to Harbor Bridge. You can fall asleep and wake up to Harbor Bridge views from your bed!! (we had room 1205)

New ZealandThe rooms are run down a little, with water damaged ceilings and few stains here and there on carpets. Two bedroom apartments very well used, again, which a fresh paint and re-carpeting would help. Doesn't match the price charged to be fair but the views are amazing, so a balance (if you can ignore stains and baby cockroaches appearing near bins which Sydney has a problem within most Hotels so not the Sebel alone). Luckily we only seen one, and took care of it with no other creatures making there way into our luggage!
Location is fantastic, with easy access to George Street via lifts that drop you down to ground level as you are elevated with amazing views (depending on room type) of the Sydney Harbour including bridge and opera house. Beds were comfortable. Staff were exceptional and very nice, easy check in and great room service. Nice lounge facilities and bar/restaurant with happy hour prices to accommodate prices.

New ZealandThere should definitely be a rail around the spa and to the edge of the pool. It’s a slippery surface . There needs to be a message to guests to enter the property from the street below . We saw many people dragging their suitcases up the hill like us.
The views from the room from The Sydney Harbour Bridge to The Opera House are fantastic. The rooms are sunny, spacious and comfortable. The kitchen and laundry facilities are excellent.
