How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Nothing that got in the way of having a great stay.
Excellent location, within walking distance of both the CBD and everything Fitzroy has to offer yet nestled in a quiet lane. Perfect sized unit with all the necessary facilities for a short term stay. Friendly and courteous staff to greet you when you arrive. Will definitely stay here again.

we were unexpectedly late arriving but the on site manager was there within minutes. it was clean, the parking convenient and I was comfortable with security. walking distance to everywhere including restaurants, city, trams, shopping and museum. will definitely return.

Very spacious apartment. Dated but very clean with all that was needed for our stay. Would be perfect for a longer stay. Nice garden surrounds unusual for so close to the CBD. Tram stop close by.

Up two flights of stairs . Couch was old and sagging. Every time a tap was turned on in adjoining and our unit , water pipes banged like a old dunny door. Great to wake you up at6 am when neighbour turns in a tap.

No EV charger, nor access to a power point to trickle charge. The position of my room was very noisy, on the first night due to storm water pipe being next to my window. Also noise from pedestrians on Palmer Lane.
Location was very convenient.

There is really nothing we didn’t like.
The place was very clean, very spacious and quiet. Was super close to so many places we visited. We were able to easily walk around and hardly used our hire car!

There was some noise in the early hours of the morning from garbage trucks and people walking through the lane however, this did not impact us greatly. There were some cigarette butts in the garden at our room again this did not impact us we just had to pick them up so my children could play.
The location of Comfort apartments is excellent and we were able to walk to the places we wanted to go. We were pleasantly surprised with our room being so spacious and spectacularly clean. Our beds were super comfy with crisp clean sheets. The staff were really helpful and kind when my mum had difficulty turning the heating on after hours.

A lift would have been the cherry on the top but definitely would stay again even though there wasn’t one. The staff were so helpful they even helped carrying cases up the stairs for us.
Excellent location and really polite and helpful staff. Well equiped, spotlessly clean and would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Melbourne for a city break. we will be back.

The apartment was fairly dated (bathroom especially) and curtains / net curtains needed replacing but overall the apartment was very good value for money.
Good location - quiet but close to restaurants, shops etc. Very helpful staff member (shout out to Trishy). Spacious apartment and well equipped with full kitchen and laundry facilities. Great value for a stay in Melbourne.

The only downfall was that I was by myself in a 2 bedroom apartment due to availability, so it was far too large a spot.
Location was perfect for me, right in the heart of Fitzroy. The apartment was very clean and tidy.

Beautiful surroundings, lovely gardens. Apartments are very nice! Across the road from Melbourne Museum and Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens. nice walk or tram ride to CBD.
