How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

This is in a great location. Close to Brooke St Pier. East walk to Salamanca Place. Skybus drops off a few metres away.

the heating and plumbing was very noisy. you could hear too much service noise such as running water from other rooms.

The shower over the bath

No parking on site. Even though I arranged for parking knowing we had our grandmother and pregnant daughter. When we arrived we were told our car was too big (only a Camry) must need to be in a mini. Then told we needed to park about 10 minutes away. Which was ok! However the receptionist on checking in didn’t inform us to receive the hotel discount rate you need to validate your ticket at the Quest hotel near the car park. It was only when returning from our dinner and speaking to the lovely night receptionist, that she happened to mention it.
It was very close to restaurants, the wharf and the Salamanca market

Lights were out in our room on the last morning making it difficult to see in the internal bathroom. The one bedside lamp that did go was flickering to start with and we had to play with it to stop it.
Location was excellent . Walking distance to city, waterfront, food.

The property doesn’t have views, but the location and comfort make up for that.
Fabulous location, walk to CBD, Salamanca and the waterfront area. Great restaurants everywhere you look. Secure car parking

The common areas could do with a freshen up, and although the rooms were good the bed could do with a mattress topper as I found it quite hard. The lift is clunky but adequate, There were no amazing views from my room, but the location and value more than made up for it.
Location was perfect! It was across from the MONA ferry and around the corner from the Salamanca Markets and plenty of places to eat. It was a short walk to the city mall and all the shopping. Staff were wonderful, friendly, and helpful. The room was very large with big windows and lots of natural light. The bathroom was enormous. It was excellent value for money.

Rooms type we had was small and a little dated but for the price that’s not really an issue..
Great location, friendly staff! Room was cosy, clean and bed comfortable. Had everything you needed for a quick overnight stay :)

Bed a bit soft, and pillows were very soft.
Excellent location close to Salamanca and Constitution dock. Check in staff were very friendly. Quiet location with very little indication anyone else was present. Shower had plenty of pressure, although it was an in bath shower, but at 196cm did not have any issues with shower head height.

The property charged me additional 25/-for a bottle of wine I didn't consume. When I checked out, the reception asked me if I had consumed from the mini bar and I confirmed otherwise. Despite this they charged me additional. I had to write to them to ask for a refund. They refunded me the money after a week. However, the attitude of the staff in handling the issue was very poor. There was no apology (as if it was my mistake, not theirs). They also charged me credit card surcharge (which I believe Bookings should specifically mention on their website when we do the booking via Booking.com) as some Hotels show all inclusive price on Bookings site. (with no surprises later on).
The location- very close to public transport and restaurants which is handy.

The door in the stair well on 1st floor banged shut alot as a sporting team on our floor constantly went up and down the stairs. We probably wouldnt have noticed however our room was directly opposite the stair well. In fairness I should add this did not go on for hours just for a while as they were coming and going. Probably just a small job for the maintenance man.
Reception staff - very welcoming and friendly. Good secure off site parking available after 5 pm. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Handy location. Despite proximity to pub across the street the room was very quiet. Would definitely stay there again. Close to many restaurants, bars and cafes and the market.

The location was outstanding and great value and the staff were very good. My bed was uncomfortable because it was made up of two king single separate mattresses which were entirely different pushed together. I could hear a clothes dryer in a room above or nearby which had finished its cycle and continued to automatically rotated every 30 seconds between 10pm until I rose at 4am on Sunday and a Monday mornings.
