How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

There is a full service kitchen but there is NO cutlery whatsoever. Not even a cutlery drawer!

Considering it's rated 4 star the cooking utensils looked like they were out of a charity shop. One frying pan in which everything stuck and burnt as it wasn't non stick and one other huge saucepan, nothing in-between. One big Pyrex casserole dish no other microwave dishes. No salt or pepper . Room service was very random during my 9 day stay .
Quiet with very comfy beds and pillows. Excellent shower with good pressure

Room wasn't serviced daily as stated. Someone had left garbage bag outside their room and smelt like seafood, it was left for 2 days and by this stage you could smell outside our apartment, very unpleasant.
Location was great, short walking distance to beach, shops, grocery stores and restaurants.

Don't provide parking, we park at the roadside, and the police give us summon.
The seaview is fantastic, house is luxury and nice decorated, comfortable and everyone enjoy it alot.

location suited us
booked a twin room, was given a double. went to reception to ask for a swap to twin, no apology was told I should have emailed and requested. I told the staff that I had booked a twin and I had emailed to state a twin needed. had to wait for staff to set up another room. reception staff very rude. on check out at 10am no staff to be seen. we waited in reception for over 5 minutes before leaving room key on desk and walking out.

The main bathroom was a little grimey, felt like the shower needed a good scrub with bleach, otherwise it was tidy. Also there were no bin liners in the kitchen bin, a bin liner would have been helpful/useful. We had an infant with us for the night, we had pre planned and booked a porta cot for our room, the cot was left for us, however there was no linen, and the inset mattress was a little grotty. I went to reception as I couldn't find a phone in our room which was strange. At reception I requested a sheet for the cot, which was going to be brought up, but it never arrived. We were out and about so perhaps someone came up, but nothing was left for us. My daughter made do with something else. It would have been nice for the Porta cot to be made up - slight inconvenience was all.
The apartment was spacious, we booked a 3 bedroom and there was plenty of room for all of us (5 adults plus an infant), the view was lovely, even though the apartment isn't right on the beach, we still had a little view of it from our balcony. The beds were comfy. The location to Scarborough Beach and cafe's and restaurants was good, just a short stroll - also a supermarket and bottle shop were close by.
