Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandWe booked one of the studio rooms and found on our first night that it was very noisy (noise coming from both within and outside the hotel), making it hard to sleep. There were people talking on the street outside and it felt as if they were in the room with us ... However, staff were really helpful in finding a more suitable room for us when we talked to them the next morning. The bathroom in the studio room was quite small but was functional
The location was excellent - really close to Coogee beach, lots of shops nearby, and public transport right outside. Bed was nice and big and was really comfortbale. Staff were really friendly and helpful, particularly when we requested to change rooms due to noise levels.

Czech RepublicHotel was very nice, but unfortunately we had the room in ground floor, window to the street on ground level, pretty noisy. Also above us was the hotel hall and we could hear walking from very early morning.
Very nice place, shopping and eating opportunities very close, public transportation next to the hotel. Kitchen available and also laundry.

United StatesIt is a 40 min., each way, Lightrail ride to the Sydney Harbor area, and that was where most of our plans were. Based on my research leading up to the booking, I thought it would be about half that. One of us thought the beds were comfortable, but they were kind of hard for my liking. There is no elevator, and we were put in an upstairs room and had heavy luggage that we had to carry ourselves, up and down, the very steep and small stairs. The lighting in the room was terrible. We had to use our phone flashlights when looking for things in our suitcases. The overhead light is very dim. They have 2 very dim lamps, but there is only one outlet with 2 plugs in the room, so if you want to plug in an adapter to charge phones, watches, etc, you can only have one lamp plugged in.
I liked the reasonable cost for a decent room. $20 AUD Uber ride to Bondi Beach from the hotel, so not bad at all. Lots of restaurants and some shopping all within walking distance. The Lightrail entrance is across the street, so very easy and inexpensive to get around. Very nice bathroom with a large shower.

IrelandWhile the bed was serviced and changed as stated, towels changed every day, the bathroom itself was not cleaned on any day of the week we stayed, toilet, handbasin, shower or floor. We had a beautiful room with a balcony we enjoyed but downside we were located at the front of the hotel and traffic and sirens continued through the night. I suggest requesting a back location.
Reception very customer friendly and location to the tram network excellent.

AustraliaParking is DIFFICULT. Do not book if you need your car close by. There's nowhere to drop off bags unless you stop in the middle of a busy side street. We had to park in the hospital and walk all our things over and it was inconvenient. We spent a lot of $ on hospital car parking for 3 days. We booked MONTHS in advance, asked multiple times and still could not secure a parking space at the property. There are approx 8 parks for the entire building. Not enough. Staff do not care about being accommodating re parking and were quite dismissive at each request for parking. We wouldn't stay here again for this reason. Bathroom was so tiny we could barely get into the shower. Not having a microwave in room is really annoying. There's plenty of space to add one.
Comfy beds, linen. Location is perfect for supporting hospital visits. Room was super clean and serviced. Appreciated being provided a cot.

This is our 4th time to stay in the Lurline Randwick. We love the colonial period building and the courtyard is relaxing. The room is big with a high ceiling. The location is handy, the light rail station is just across the road. Always enjoy our stay.

AustraliaThe shower leaked water out of the doors so the bathroom floor got quite wet. The painting of the walls was only half finished so took away from the look of the room.

AustraliaNothing, it was all good.
My daughter and I stayed in the Randwick Lurline in a courtyard room. It was a stressful time as my daughter has a tumor in her leg that we were in Randwick to speak to a surgeon about. The Lurline was in the perfect location and the staff were lovely (especially the lovely lady at reception).

AustraliaThe TV in one of the rooms would not keep the Wifi contact, and therefore wouldn't work a lot of the time.
Fittings and room appearance were all excellent and high spec. Staff were extremely flexible and accommodating given our situation with our daughter in hospital, and not knowing how long we'd need to stay.

AustraliaIt's not anything that I didn't like, just a suggestion for other travellers, bathroom tight, so if you're super tall or more on the larger scale, I'm not sure you'd be comfortable. Maybe it was just our room, not sure what the other bathrooms are like.
We had the most fabulous stay. Just needed for 1 night. Bed was comfy, had all the necessary requirements. I was really happy with everything. Location awesome, right across from tram line to the city. Awesome for the entertainment quarter. Very happy and will be back.
