How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

A big tear in the couch No plug for the sinks

The wet room shower arrangement. Firstly, water splashes everywhere making the floor slippery. And there was no mop to dry it with. Secondly, there was no handrail in the shower that could be held onto whilst standing on one leg to wash the other. Thirdly, there was no soap/wash brush holder. Fourthly, there was no rubber/plastic shower mat with suction pads for safe standing in the shower. Fortunately I had brought my own. I think the arrangement is unsafe for elderly people and eventually someone will slip and be injured. The old fashioned shower cabinet with a handrail and a soap/wash brush holder is a far better arrangement. Perhaps consider installing these in the shower recess? The photos/information provided did not reveal the presence of the wet room.
The receptionist provided two keys and also printed out our boarding passes and ordered a taxi for us.

The shower is rusting around the corners. Might need a blanket in winter

The sofa needs replacing it was busted underneath no support or comfort it is fit for the tip. There was no broom or mop for a 5 day stay with no room service so a fully tiled room was in desperate need of a sweep. Bathroom was awesome but shower spay went over most of Bathroom floor & nothing to mop it up. Iron needs replacing as the cord has wires showing through & the tip of iron has been broken off.

the cleanliness could be better. There was a cockroach in my room! And the carpet and sofa feel rather dated and don't feel clean. I wish there could be more toiletries - 1x tiny bottle of body wash really isn't enough for 2 nights.
Convenient location, easy to check in and check out, having a kitchen in the room, and laundry as well. Staff from my check-in was very helpful and friendly.

Unfortunately, it was found there was an issue with the bedding. I have raised this with the property, who have acknowledged they will address the matter with housekeeping.
The room was lovely and modern. It was great to have a chromecast attached to the TV already, so I didn't need to use my own! The floor lighting was cute and had an insane amount of storage space with cupboards and all, so excellent for long-term stays.

Parts of the room weren't as clean as expected, and the throw blanket on the bed was unwashed. Parts of the floor felt a little unsafe to walk on & water damage was obvious on the ceiling.
The bed was comfortable & staff were friendly. The location was perfect for our plans.

The air con in the second bedroom was old, broken, noisy. Staff did try their best to fix it, but with minimal effect. A few things needed some TLC, eg bathroom door for second bedroom.
Good location. Comfortable beds. Parking available on site (for a reasonable fee). Good choice of cafes nearby. Apartment included washer and dryer.
