Although it was earmarked as a non smoking property, on of the guests in the neighboring room smoked outside pretty much the whole time which was really disappointing as the overpowering smell permeated the whole place and made sitting outside uncomfortable.

It was a lovely location, very clean, excellent value for money and great, welcoming host.

The most unreal view over the river was to die for, the pictures don't do it justice. Literally sat and just looked out for hours in the afternoon it was so beautiful. Terri was very friendly and welcoming, and this was probably one of the cleanest places I've ever stayed. Bed was comfortable, room was spacious and aircon worked well. Location is great, a very short drive into town (literally like 4 mins). Could not recommend this place enough, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again on my next trip to Cooktown.

An excellent and pleasant experience staying Riva-La-Vista Cooktown.  Our family booked the two rooms, 1 room has a ensuite and the other has amenities 5 meters away. Please don’t let this even deter you. The rooms are large and extremely clean and so comfortable.  When we first arrived Terri was there ready to greet us and explain the layout and the finer details of the property. Terri was very friendly, helpful and had strong local knowledge.  The Views are unreal, my wife and I loved eating breakfast, swinging on the dual chair swing looking out over the harbour,  The sunset from here is another unique and priceless experience.  The facilities include, BBQ, fridge, washing machine and microwave, all in excellent condition.   The negative, if we only booked one room, we may have received the room without the ensuite.   We will definitely be returning to Cooktown to do more exploring, and for us the is only one place worth staying and that is with Terry at Riva-La-Vista Cooktown.

A nespresso macjune

Breakfast was not expected so bread and raisin bread and jam in fridge were a pleasant surprise. There was instant coffee and nespresso capsules supplied but no nespresso machine. Small matter.

Excellent accomodation with incredible views. Room was tidy and clean. Kitchen was well stocked with simple breakfast options. Terri and her husband were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.
