The kitchen is atrocious, messy and dirty. I went and boil some water and will not go back a second time. It should be kept clean and tidy as it puts you off if you are prepping food and there are food scraps and things are everywhere. This area needs improvement.

The location is great most venue is within walking distance. Very convenient especially if you can't get transport.

Concrete floors are extremely slippery after being wet. Hurt my knee after carrying things from the kitchen. For this reason will choose to stay elsewhere next time.

Our dorm was divided into 3 sections, so me and my friend ended up essentially sleeping in different rooms. Not the end of the world, but I also found staff a bit rude. They didn’t bother to tell us that we needed to collect a cutlery and crockery box from them to be able to have dinner. Didn’t find out till dinner time when reception was already shut. Kitchen was a bit gross and didn’t have much in the way of utensils

The place was a dump but it was $20 a night. It seemed to be very neglected with little maintenance done. It was also filthy. The gardens had rubbish in them, there were dirty glasses and the kitchen was just disgusting. They had cleaners who tried but it wasn’t enough to fix years of filth. The TV didn’t work either.

This was a typical backpackers which you woul expect for $80 per night not $150 we paid. We had to ask for clean towels after being there 3 nights. The wifi did not work and the tv occasionally got 2 channels. On the upside the staff were very friendly.

The only real issue was the bed was super uncomfortable. It was so soft (lacked frame support I think), that my spine felt like it was curving inwards so I didn’t get much sleep. Other smaller issues were a lack of fridge space (they could do with an extra fridge and freezer. Or put mini fridges in the bigger rooms.), and the side draw next to the bed was broken. Other than that though was good.

Overall I was very happy with the property. It was in a good location, and even though I was in a 10 bed room because the beds were separated by 3 walls it gave you more privacy which was really good. It also had a bar where you could get some lovely food and drinks. And the staff were so helpful and nice!!

Roey's is dirty, loud and falling apart. The rooms don't seem to get cleaned at all and we're really dirty with dust, dirt and hair occupying every corner. The kitchen was a disaster zone with leftover food left discarded on benches and the floor. And the outdoor areas were decorated with spatters of vomit. The place is in serious need of a handyman with the staircases falling apart and dripping taps everywhere.

The location was the only positive thing I can say about this place. I guess it was pretty cheap. You get what you pay for.

The rooms were disgusting, there was dust everywhere and a build up on the fans so we couldn’t use that. The female bathrooms only had 2 functional toilets and cold water showers only, almost all the taps had something faulty with them. The outdoor area/bbq area was falling apart and the bbq didn’t look like they worked. The kitchen area was disgusting and we ended up not using all of the utensils. It said there was a pool but you had to walk over to the motel side and if the gate was locked you had to ask reception to let you in. Also there were bones in the pool so it was obvious it wasn’t maintained/ cleaned often. The mattress were so thin we were basically sleeping on the metal frame of the bed.

It was a good location in town with cafes so we didn’t have to use the dirty kitchen
