How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Whilst the property is a little old and dated, it had a lot of charm. The breakfast was fantastic and the location is perfect - in the city but quiet and across the road from the botanical gardens

No complaints.
The location is amazing, adjacent the tranquil, lush Botanic Gardens. Walking distance to restaurants, central shopping district and transport. Room was spacious, bright, clean and very quiet. Staff were amazing and could not do enough to ensure your stay was a memorable one. Will definitely rely make Royal on the park a preferred place to stay when visiting Brisbane next.

I love it. Maybe more convenient charging points for devices but that’s not really a complaint just a suggestion
This was our second stay at Royal on the Park since we “discovered it” late last year. Royal on the Park has a beautiful charm about it as soon as you walk in the front door. The hotel is so beautifully decorated and appointed. Staff are the friendliest and most helpful of any hotel we have stayed at, and this makes such an important difference to an enjoyable stay. We had the Premiere king room and it’s very comfortable, and well appointed. The only criticism of the room, as with other hotels, is the power points /usb is not easily accessible for charging phones and watches- minor issue though. We had breakfast each day and food selection was good and coffee was beautiful. This will be our go to hotel when we are back in Brisbane each time.

Breakfast service and restaurant prices generally
Across the road was the park and also buses we could go on to show us around the city. We ate and relaxed in the Lounge mainly.

It was a bit uncomfortable walking through a group of conference attendees to get to the pool area.😂 But the pool was worth it. I'm sure they were more uncomfortable with my legs being seen out in public😂😂
The rooms were spacious and very quiet. The curtains were nice and heavy so the room stayed dark for a morning sleep in. The pool area was very clean and relaxing. The location close to the botanical gardens was lovely. It was an easy walk into the city and to the train station when we had to leave.

The humidity but the Royal was perfectly air conditioned and it was lovely to have an afternoon swim so we could cool off.
We love this place! An older style but with plenty of charm, short walk to restaurants and shopping, as well as across the river to Southbank. The pool area is wonderful and you don't feel crowded as the block itself is very open and spacious. We stay here every time we go to Brisbane as it is well priced and convenient to every thing.

Having a wedding party in the restaurant whilst other diners are trying to enjoy their meal. My husband and I invited two friends who we hadn't seen for a while to join us for dinner. We were unable to have a conversation or enjoy ourselves due to the noise from the wedding party. If the hotel is going to cater for weddings they should be put in a separate function room. It wasn't good.
Centrally located to the gardens, shops and restaurants with all easily reached on foot. Room and bed were very comfortable.

While we had a lovely meal out of the hotel we we’re looking forward to sitting in the lobby bar for a nice drink and we were refused , we where told the bar is closed but noticed other guests sitting there . The time was around 10pm this was disappointing as it used to what we look forward to doing when staying at the hotel .

Aircon in some rooms didn’t work too well .
Coffee machines were in all rooms. Staff were very accomodating and friendly for our friends wedding and couldn’t do enough.

We had trouble getting internet during our entire stay. To stay connected, we had to walk into the hallway for a signal. Then, after going back into our room, the internet would work for about 10 minutes before disconnecting again. We did inform the front desk, and they were very responsive in having maintenance reset the router or something, but after telling them again it was not working, and their retrying to fix, we just gave up and dealt with it. We had better connection on the weekend, and I am guessing it was because less people were using the wifi (no business convention going on).
We liked our room and the facility, and loved the neighborhood. Great location to restaurants and shops, as well as across the street from the botanical gardens. We always felt safe while walking around the area, too.
