How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We loved our stay! The house was more than comfortable for a family of 4 (kids 7 and 4), with room to sleep more. The house was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The kids loved the novelty of the DVD player never having seen one before. Location is nice and quiet and a short drive or walk to beautiful beaches. The house is a short drive from Rye town centre, Sorrento and Arthur’s Seat.

The house was a bit dusty and every room had spiders and spider webs.
Enjoyed the house being spacious and basic supplies provided in kitchen. Also kids enjoyed the games and activities provided in the house.

We were very happy
Great family home 2 living areas and well stocked with all the things we needed. Garden was lovely to look out on from the picture windows a perfect home to relax in!! Would like to return in winter to enjoy the fireplace.

Mattresses were too soft for our preference.
This accommodation had everything we needed for a short family beach trip. Short walk to the beach, enough distance from main traffic. There were some toys that my son could play with which was a huge bonus.

The floor was a little dirty in places and the kitchen tiles were quite sticky. There were quite a few spider webs around and a few spiders. There was a bit of dust on surfaces.
We really enjoyed our time at Rye Costal Getaway. Little things that made our stay more enjoyable with a family included the set up of the indoors, with 2 generous living areas, well set up kitchen (pots/ utensils/ etc) and outdoor space. Things like clothes washing powder, vacuum, pegs and dishwasher tablets also were helpful and made our stay easier. Ann was responsive, friendly and helpful to questions and providing information. The beds were clean and comfortable, and the house was like a home away from home.

The floors were a bit dirty, the breaky bar/bench had dried food stuck on the front of it, where you sat, the kettle was deeply stained and could do with a $7 kmart replacement or a good hard scrub out. The vertical blinds were pretty grotty and stained at the bottom and there was a number of animal droppings (maybe possum or mouse poop?) in the main toilet room. The home had obviously had a basic clean but probably needs a good overhauling, deep clean. I appreciate that maybe rentals have been slow, with covid etc, but probably even more reason to deep clean ?
Home was on a quiet street and owners communication was good. Beds comfortable. We really liked that linen was supplied and appreciated owners were generous in letting us in early on the first day.

Cleaning . We had a vacuum ourselves when arrived.
Late check out till noon is great , fully equipped kitchen with everything you need, 5 minutes driving to center and beach. Books and games are provided for kids.
